WHAT YOU'LL DO

As part of the Engineering Department, theEntry Level Liaison Engineerwill create design solutions to address nonconforming parts and systems on an airplane, includingcorrecting any build or design errors found during production. Repair solutions will take into consideration: composite structures, interiors, payloads, electrical systems, functional testing, finishes, aerodynamics, electromagnetic environment, damage tolerance, fatigue, static strength, propulsion, safety, and more. Other expectations may include:

  • Coordinate activities to evaluate and resolve engineering-related production problems
  • Work with Quality Control, Manufacturing, and other departments to provide support or obtain information
  • Analyze damage, repair, or structural modification to determine the appropriate solution
  • Design interim structural repairs and conduct static strength analysis
  • Develop non-destructive test procedures, tools, and standards
  • Conduct simple static strength analysis
  • Investigate reports of defective, damaged, or malfunctioning parts, assemblies, equipment, or systems to determine the nature and scope of the problem
  • Serveas a member of the material review board to determine the disposition of defective or damaged parts.
  • Interpret engineering drawings and help correct errors on drawings and documents identified during manufacturing operations
  • Develop experience in Federal Aviation Regulations and regulatory processes
  • Analyze and write production discrepancies
  • Check drawings, suggest changes, and complete ECN/DCNs
  • Other duties as assigned or required

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM

  • 1-2 years of relevant experience or education
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering such as Aerospace, Materials, Mechanical, or closely related discipline
  • Understanding of basic engineering principles, including fluid mechanics, strength of materials, and stress analysis
  • Ability to follow prescribed processes, specifications, and guidelines
  • Work well independently and in a team with a positive attitude & professional presence
  • Strong knowledge of computer-aided design tools
  • Strong mechanical design aptitude
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Flexible and able to adapt to changing requirements
  • Able to work well independently or in a team
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. for any employer without sponsorship now or in the future
