Henrico County Public Schools is one of the six largest public school divisions in Virginia with a nationally recognized educational program. Provides requested assistance to all patrons as needed
Verifies book orders, supplies, and materials
Shelves materials and straightens collection daily
Manages reserves, and interlibrary loans
Enters and interprets circulation and patron data using an on-line circulation system
Assists with financial records for library allocations including any spreadsheet tracking files that may be developed for fund accounting and general accounting
Assists the librarians in preparing materials, reports, and staging the library for presentations or special events
Prepares and submits purchase order forms and warehouse supply forms as requested
Provides circulation and processing data entry support as needed
Maintaining catalog by requesting needed changes and adding magazines as needed
Performs general clerical duties (filing, typing, answering phones, duplication)
Maintains a working knowledge of the content of print and non-print resources (as defined by the professional staff)
Assists in implementing the division Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) as it relates to student use of the Internet and electronic resources
Provides technical assistance and support for the library as assigned
Serves as a liaison between the librarian and the staff
Prepares and processes new materials for shelving and circulation
Repairs worn or damaged items (includes creating and applying spine labels, covering paperback and hardback books, fixing spines, covers, loose pages, etc.)
Attends work daily, as scheduled, and is engaged in job responsibilities
Performs other duties as assigned by school librarian and/or Principal (or designee)
Graduation from high school or equivalent. Must possess strong communications skills and be able to follow directions. Is able to use computers in a broad range of applications such as but not limited to the following: Word Processing; Spreadsheet Data Entry and Spreadsheet Design; Database Maintenance; and Internet Search Engines. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work as team member are desirable.
