Great opportunity to work a Hybrid Schedule 2 days in office / 3 days at home!

Responsibilities:

• Create and maintain a vendor supply chain database including delivery terms, mode of transport, category, etc.
• Create and maintain a log for inbound shipments with status from the time the delivery notification is received until the shipment reaches the warehouse.
• Review invoices and packing slips received from international vendors for accuracy.
• Correspond with international vendors regarding invoices, packing slips, and shipments.
• Work with external brokers, agents, and attorneys to resolve internal customs problems/issues.
• Using vendor information process inbound shipments with Descartes software interface with Customs.
• Open all-new import files and maintain an extensive import file system.
• Apply for tariff concessions or attorneys duty drawbacks and other refunds.
• Interact with employees at all levels to provide a full range of import compliance leadership, guidance, advice, and support to management, functional areas, and program teams across the company.
• Provide import determinations and authorizations (license/permits/exemptions/exceptions); prepare, submit, track, monitor requisite license, permit applications, and make sure renewals problems/issues on time.
• Oversee and coordinate import activities with U.S. Customs Brokers and Freight Forwarders (review import documents, provide broker clearance instructions, audit entry files for compliance and amendments, ensure US Customs Bond is maintained, etc.).
• Assist in determining product classifications (under the U.S. International Trade
• Expedite clearance and release of shipments that have been delayed by CBP and other governmental agencies as required; coordinate the release of goods with carriers.
• Develop, plan, and conduct in-house import compliance training sessions for employees, management, and program teams across the company.
• Develop, implement, enhance, and maintain the company’s import compliance policies, procedures, work instructions, and implementing forms; identify opportunities for process improvement where appropriate.
• Electronically and manually (as needed) transmits to U.S. Customs all information necessary to obtain clearance. Communicate with Traffic Representatives and as required ensuring proper shipment clearance and delivery
• Assure timely and accurate invoicing of brokerage services and customs fees and preapprove any related billing.
• Implements new CBP policy and regulations, and company policy as needed.
• Daily follow-up on documentation discrepancy issues which requires the ability to troubleshoot and communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing with customers and foreign origins.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
