Licensed Psychologist

The Licensed Psychologist will conduct evaluation with young children suspected of meeting diagnostic criteria for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This involves diagnostic interview and assessment, including administration of the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule – Second Edition (ADOS-2). The licensed psychologist also provides feedback and recommendations to patients, families, and/or community agencies/providers. Depending on skills and areas of expertise, the licensed psychologist may assume additional roles or specialty services to other programs; however, the licensed psychologist’s primary role will be diagnostic evaluation of ASD.

In this role, you will provides evaluation and treatment of patients with a variety of neurodevelopmental, behavior and/or mental health concerns. You will provide diagnostic interviews/assessments with patients and/or families, collaborate with Behavior Analysts and Technicians conducting assessments, and provide feedback and recommendations to patients, families, and providers. You may have the opportunity to function as a sub-specialist within the organization or provide specialty services for other programs as our organization grows.

Responsibilities of the Licensed Psychologist:

• Demonstrates highly developed knowledge and skill in the area of differential diagnosis of psychiatric disorders.
• Perform psychological assessment with accurate diagnostic impressions.
• Provides behavioral health services using empirically validated treatments and interventions.
• Provides behavioral health services in using an acute and maintenance model.
• Schedules sufficient volume of patients so that direct service productivity standards are maintained within the department.
• Maintains current knowledge of relevant literature and empirically validated treatments.
• Maintains knowledge of the literature relevant to the relevant patient population.
• Provides crisis sessions to support and assist patients experiencing acute distress and/or symptoms as needed.
• Participates in regular supervisory meetings with direct supervisor to review adherence to program standards.
• Consults and collaborates with multidisciplinary teams regarding patient care and treatment planning.
• Demonstrates ability to maintain accurate and complete records and data collection performed in a timely fashion.
• Provides formal teaching and supervision for staff and trainees.

Qualifications of the Licensed Psychologist:

• Doctoral degree in Psychology (PsyD or PhD), or MD from an accredited institution.
• Three (3) years of experience in Psychology or related field.
• Post-doctoral fellowship in position specific area (preferred).
• Excellent clinical interviewing and assessment/therapy skills to work with patients and families.
• Strong interpersonal skills.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

• Licensed Psychologist, verifiable by the Maryland State Board of Examiners of Psychologists
