The Nook, a Daytime Eatery located at Higley and Queen Creek Roads is hiring Experienced Line Cooks.
Minimum 1 year experience required. Breakfast experience preferred.
Salary depends upon experience in a similar setting.
We are a busy, full service breakfast/lunch restaurant offering a variety of unique and freshly prepared items.
Our business hours are 6am-2pm Monday to Friday and 7am to 2:30pm Saturday and Sunday ( No night shift ever!) .
We are closed for Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.
- The primary responsibility is to quickly, safely and efficiently prepare food for the customers using our recipes and guidelines for food preparation.
- This position will be responsible for food preparation in various stations, including Plate, Middle, and Egg and Salad Stations. Accurately and efficiently cook eggs, meats, seafood, vegetables, soups and other hot and cold food products. She/he will also prepare and portion food products prior to cooking and perform other duties, including plating and garnishing of cooked items and preparing appropriate garnishes for all “finished” plates.
- Assume 100% responsibility for the quality and presentation of products served. Also responsible for the cleanliness of their work station(s).
Requirements:
- Prior experience in kitchen preparation and cooking for a full service sit down restaurant. (breakfast experience preferred)
- Must be able to effectively communicate with management and coworkers
- Able to work positively in a fast-paced environment
- Multi-task oriented – able to perform multiple job functions at one time
- Punctual with regular and reliable attendance
- Must have valid food handler's certification
- Walk and stand throughout the entire shift
- Continuously reach, bend, lift, carry, stoop, twist and turn
- Regularly lift up to 50 pounds
- Be able to work in hot, wet, humid and loud environment for long periods of time
- Ability to be exposed to and work with cleaning chemicals
- Understand basic food measurements
