Job Title: Cook 1 (Line Cook, Demi CDP) - LPM Miami

Reporting To: Sous Chef, Senior Sous Chef, Head Chef

Pay: $22-25/hour + service charge

Scope and General Purpose

To prepare food items in any section of the kitchen assigned by the Outlet

Chef, according to standard recipes and ensuring guest satisfaction

consistent with LPM Standards.

Key Performance Areas

Operational

  • To set up the mise-en-place stations for the various meal periods according to performance standards
  • To prepare food items according to the standard recipes, ensuring the flair, creativity and quality standards that LPM has become known for
  • To assist in controlling expenses and minimize waste of all food items
  • To collect food requisitions for the Outlet Kitchen, as directed
  • To assist in maximizing employee morale and productivity
  • To work in any section of the kitchen when necessary or as requested by the Outlet Chef
  • To become familiar with all sections of the kitchen to facilitate the flexible use of employees
  • To ensure that operating and kitchen equipment is maintained to a good standard with minimum breakage
  • To break-down mise-en-place stations at the end of meal periods and store the food away properly

  • To clean up tabletops, shelves, kitchen utensils, operating equipment, drawers etc before leaving the workplace

Occasional Duties

Works with and supports others as part of a team both within and across functions. To carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned by, Head Chef, Senior Sous Chef, Sous Chef, Section Chef or Chef de Partie Outlet Kitchen

To respond to change in the departmental function as dictated by the industry, company or restaurant

Special Requirements

Language Skills

  • Ability to read, write and speak in English is needed to successfully accomplish the essential duties of this job
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
  • Ability to speak effectively with other employees of the company

Certificates

The State of Florida requires all employees who handle food and liquor to have a Food Handler and Responsible Vendor Certificate. Therefore, this certificate is a requirement for employment at LPM and any expense incurred to obtain the certificate or to renew it, is the responsibility of the employee. This certificate is necessary to work at any restaurant and is not for the exclusive use of LPM.

Physical Abilities

  • Exert physical effort in transporting up to 30 pounds
  • Endure various physical movements throughout the work area.
  • Remain in a stationary position for up to 4 hours throughout the work shift.
  • Required to stand, stoop; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel, lift, reach with hands and arms; talk to hear and taste or smell.
  • Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and extreme heat.
  • Work near moving mechanical parts
  • Outdoor weather conditions
  • Noise level in the work environment is usually loud
