Living Hope Church (Endicott, NY) – Lead Pastor

The Big Picture

Living Hope Church (ourlivinghope.church) is seeking a Lead Pastor who is not satisfied to only take care of the flock but is poised to grow and reach more people with the Good News of Jesus Christ.

The Church

Founded in 1906 with 32 members, the First Presbyterian Church of Endicott has stood since then as a continual source of hope and help for our communities. It is from a rich history of seeing God move in and through First Presbyterian Church that we move forward eagerly as Living Hope Church, knowing that we will see God do it again.

At Living Hope Church, our mission is to honor God by making more disciples of Jesus Christ. Our Vision is to live out our mission statement by having A Heart for Our Communities.

Living Hope Church is part of the Reformed tradition of the Christian faith and a member congregation of ECO: A Covenant Order of Evangelical Presbyterians. The Holy Scriptures are our highest authority, and the confessions of the church help us understand what Scripture leads us to believe and do. Both Scripture and the confessions are foundational in forming a clearly-articulated theology that is Christ-centered, Reformed, and evangelical.

The Candidate

Will demonstrate a passion for personally leading people to Christ, helping believers mature in their faith so that they in turn make disciples, and leading the church to regularly participate in a shared, intentional, and relational evangelism approach to reach our community with the good news of Jesus Christ. We currently use Alpha as our congregation-wide evangelism engine.

Will be the primary preacher, carefully preparing and teaching God’s Word in a way that is relevant, authentic, engaging, and doctrinally sound, in order to equip a congregation that exists both in-person and online to faithfully live out God’s Word in their own lives.

Will walk alongside the leaders of the church (staff, elders, ministry leaders) to equip them to achieve their personal and ministry goals, to strengthen the spirit of collaboration and unity for the vision and mission of LHC, and to promote their physical, spiritual, and emotional health.

The Qualifications

Will lead the congregation in its continuing transformation by casting vision and helping others actively embrace the vision and mission of Living Hope Church. Must show proven or promising & developing leadership skills, with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in pastoral ministry. Our new pastor(s) will work with the Session and/or Presbytery to determine what transformation resources are necessary to understand and continue ongoing transformation at LHC.

The Compensation

Total compensation package range: $70-85k + health coverage.

Package total above includes the value of the church manse (housing+utilities) and other benefits.
