Installs, maintains, repairs and adjusts all types of locks and their components for campus buildings, rooms, furniture and vehicles; cuts and issues keys; programs and installs card access authorization for academic buildings; implements, troubleshoots, repairs and programs computerized access control systems; upgrades and assists in maintaining security systems; maintains and repairs automatic door openers, door closing units and control gates; inspects completed work for conformance with specifications, requirements and compliance with applicable college policies, procedures and Regional Building Department safety regulations; inspects related work performed by contractors; estimates cost, time and materials for locksmith projects.

Responsibilities:
- Install, repair and maintain commercial lockable hardware such as doors, automatic electric door, windows, lockers and magnetic keying systems to ensure safety of facilities, install new hardware on new and existing doors to include mortise and bored locks, exit devices, closers, coordinators, flush bolts, deadbolts, hinges, latch protectors, local alarms, sweeps, door loops, wire through hinges, and operator push pads.
- Install, program, and maintain CBORD/Gold card electric access control; coordinate with Campus Safety to plan expansion and select opening to be controlled; install computer control panels, power supplies, all door hardware and components such as request to exit and door position switches, card readers, electric strikes, electric locks, mag locks, and door closers; wiring of all components at both ends; programing software for new door locations, access groups and access schedules; coordinating with wiring contractor to have wiring run; activating access in the academic buildings on a block by block basis as requested by faculty and staff.
- Maintain current knowledge of typical control strategies utilized in electronic building access applications; clean, maintain, adjusts calibrate and service equipment used in the performance of computerized access systems and duties; keep up to date on advances in the field of access control; earn and maintain certifications of training that are required to use, purchase, and install the software and hardware needed.
- Use and maintain multiple master key systems to operate all door locks on campus in multi-level master key systems; maintain a complete understanding of how the systems operate and keep accurate, detailed records.
- Ensure that all college buildings and equipment can be locked and unlocked as needed to provide security; rekey locks when keys are lost or stolen; supply all keys; repair or replace locks, doors, door closers, handicap operators, and all card access control components; select, purchase, and install new locks and hardware on small projects.
- Assist the Locksmith Shop Supervisor in coordinating with contractors and architects to ensure the college gets the correct hardware purchased and monitors work done by outside contractors for adherence to college policies, procedures and Regional Building department safety codes; review and correct plans and hardware groups, plan keying to integrate with existing master keys, order cylinders and key blanks, cut keys and pin cylinders, install cylinders, distribute keys, on all capital renovations, remodels and new construction.
- Consult with staff, administrators, faculty, and students to help them best secure their space and property; coordinate to schedule work to avoid conflict with other activities.
- Use TMA to schedule and keep track of work, to include prioritizing work requests, entering and closing work orders, and making sure all costs are accounted for.

o Promote a culture of safety and environmental protection by working in a safe manner; immediately reporting unsafe
situations and accidents; following college procedures; and participating in appropriate safety training.
o Demonstrate environmental sustainability by using college resources wisely and supporting the colleges sustainability
initiatives and innovation.
o Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
High school graduate plus a minimum of three years of related experience; basic computer skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to communicate effectively and develop positive relationships with people from different cultural backgrounds; proficient in spelling, punctuation, grammar, and basic business math; ability to think critically and solve problems; good judgment and ability to handle confidential/sensitive information with discretion; excellent organizational and customer service skills. Must possess and maintain a valid drivers license and a driving record that is insurable by Colorado Colleges motor vehicle insurance carrier. Physical requirements include occasional heavy physical effort (lifting/moving up to 100 pounds), walking, standing, climbing, carrying of loads up and down stairs, reaching, grasping, stooping, kneeling, bending, crawling, and crouching; must work outdoors in all weather conditions; exposure to noisy or dusty conditions; exposure to mechanical, electrical and/or other hazards.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certified Registered Locksmith designation by Associated Locksmiths of America; card access integrator certification or experience.
