Under general supervision, provide logistical support and perform the duties associated with inventory control, disbursements, and receiving for the Fire Department. This position is responsible for successfully coordinating the ordering, stocking, inventorying, and maintenance of the medical supplies, pharmaceuticals, fire equipment, and protective clothing, etc. utilized by the Georgetown Fire Department. Reports to the Logistics Officer.

Professionalism & Leadership
- Uphold the Professional Standards of the department and provide quality customer service to everyone.
- Understand and follow the adopted protocols, policies, procedures and safety rules.
- Actively participate in solving problems and communicating observations, issues, and/or needs quickly through the department’s chain of command.
- Assist with providing 24/7 emergency logistical support.

Inventory and Asset Management
- Manage the department’s inventory and assets utilizing an inventory and asset management software system.
- Processes incoming stock by inspecting conditions of items, may perform operations checks on equipment; comparing count/measure of items to purchase order and packing listings; noting/resolving discrepancies; correcting the shortages and obtaining credits; entering stock received into inventory tracking system; ensuring the payment process is initiated.
- Solicits quotes on new stock items, up to $50k, and research new products, contacts vendors regarding past due deliveries.
- Assist in the compliance of local, state, federal rules and regulations regarding records management.
- Assist with completing monthly audit reports.
- Distributing station supplies, and the transfer of equipment and materials between stations.

Uniforms and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Inventory, distribution, maintenance, and tracking of all personal protective equipment worn by firefighters while performing their duties (i.e. garments, helmets, hoods, gloves, footwear, SCAB mask, etc.).
- Inventory, distribution, maintenance, and tracking of all uniform items (shirts, pants, t-shirts, caps, coats, footwear, etc.).
- Coordinate annual inspection, advanced cleaning, repairs, and fit testing of personal protection equipment (i.e. garments, helmets, hoods, gloves, footwear, SCAB mask, etc.).
- Assist with developing specifications and evaluations for uniforms and personal protective equipment.
- Ensure all repairs on items are done in a timely manner to minimize out of service timeframe.

Fire/Medical Supplies and Equipment
- Inventory, distribution, maintenance and tracking of all fire and medical apparatus equipment.
- Coordinate annual inspection, testing, and/or calibration of various equipment (i.e. ladders, fire pumps, fire hose, self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA), and air cylinders, heart monitors, etc.).
- Coordinate all maintenance and repairs on equipment, vehicles, and buildings.
- Assist with developing specifications and evaluations for various equipment.
- Supplemental delivery of supplies and equipment to stations or designated areas.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High school graduate or its equivalent and at least 18 years old.
Two (2) years of previous logistics or warehouse experience with inventory control, ordering supplies, etc. OR Any combination of experience, education or training that provides the required knowledge, skills or abilities.
Employment is contingent on passing post-offer, pre-employment drug testing and criminal background investigations.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two (2) year college or technical school; or four (4) years related experience in procurement and logistic experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge/Experience in using Operative IQ or equivalent inventory and asset management software program.
Knowledge of:
- Fundamental inventory control procedures.
- City practices, policies and procedures; federal and state laws, rules and regulations related to purchasing.
- National Fire Protection Standards (NFPA) 1971, 1851, 1852, 1981, 1982, 1989, and 1561 as they apply to the State of Texas.
- Medical and fire equipment and supplies.
- Record-keeping preparation, filing methods and records management techniques.
- Infection control procedures and other safety related policies and/or practices.
- Standard business arithmetic including percentages and decimals.
- Applicable state, federal and local laws, rules and regulations.
- Technology applications and/or programs related to the job.
- Basic budgetary principles and practices.
Skill in:
- Providing excellent customer service through telephone, e-mail, and face-to-face interactions.
- Coordinating multiple tasks, obligations, and deadlines.
- Apply logical thinking to solve problems or accomplish tasks.
- Communicating clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing.

- Maintaining technical knowledge regarding material handling, shipping and receiving of inventory.

MINIMUM LICENSES AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Valid Class C Texas Driver’s License with the ability to acquire a Class A or B license if applicable.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Standing, walking, sitting, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching, handling, fine dexterity, bending, crouching, climbing, balancing, twisting, kneeling, vision, hearing, talking, foot controls.
Some exposure to weather extremes while receiving and delivering shipments.
Must be able to lift 60 pounds and balance on a ladder.
Hiring Range: $20.24 to $25.36 hourly.
