Job description
Objective/Purpose
The primary purpose of the Export/Import Logistics Coordinator is to initiate, organize, track, and communicate to necessary parties regarding incoming and outgoing shipments and to ensure the flow of material both incoming and outgoing is efficient and reliable.

Areas of Responsibility
  • Work closely with the purchasing team on all purchase orders that require importing material
  • Work closely with the customer service team on all sales orders requiring exportation
  • Monitor incoming shipments and provide regular updates to warehouses and customers
  • Track outgoing shipments and provide regular updates to warehouses and customers
  • Coordinate with the customs broker daily
  • Ensure INCO terms are correct and followed when setting up a shipment
  • Track all shipping and clearance costs including duty, demurrage, insurance, etc.
  • Organize, complete, and provide necessary documents to both the customers and the customs broker and ensure that they are in compliance with customs rules and regulations
  • Calculate weight, volume, and cost of goods being moved
  • Maintain up to date knowledge on US custom import and export regulations
  • Coordinate freight releases, entry processing, and arrange final delivery when necessary
  • Maintain effective relationship with clients, carriers, forwarders, customs, etc.
  • Provide regular updates to the operation and sales team regarding market conditions
Minimum Qualifications / Education / Certifications

1. Education:
a. Bachelor's degree or related training equivalent (Business or Supply Chain preferred)
b. Relevant work experience in similar title and scope of responsibility – preferred
2. Proven business acumen and high level analytical skills
3. Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a team environment
4. Must be able to multitask, solve problems, and maintain organization during busy times
5. Maintains professional presentation, attitude, and behavior toward others
6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
7. Demonstrates ability to adapt to using newly introduced tools and technology
8. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and/or Adobe file creation and management.
