Summary

CHS has an exciting opportunity for a Logistics Specialist in our Automated Fuel Delivery (AFD) department at our corporate office in Inver Grove Heights, MN. You must be highly motivated, entrepreneurial, innovative, and detail-oriented, with excellent verbal and written communication skills. You must have strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all outbound shipments from terminals to end-user customers.
  • Oversee inventories at customer tanks and bulk plants.
  • Play a key role in onboarding new customers onto AFD by partnering with regional account managers, transportation managers, and other AFD staff members
  • Establish routing & dispatch execution, route optimization, and cost containment, minimizing out-of-route and empty miles where possible.
  • Collaborate with Account Managers to find more supply when needed.
  • Conduct analysis and forecast product availability, location, and customer needs.
  • Develop & maintain strategic carrier relationships aiding in effective management of logistical costs.
  • Monitor and analyze costs, maintaining expenditures and planning for growth.
  • Effectively communicate with various internal stakeholders to efficiently & economically meet product sales execution goals.
  • Manage inventory levels at bulk plants.
  • Divert and reassign shipments as required.
  • Provide work direction to Logistics Specialist I.
  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and regulations.

Minimum Qualifications (required)

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • 3+ years experience in logistics, including;

o Route optimization and dispatch execution.

o Handling all aspects of product movement and multi-stops from origination to destinations.

  • Previous negotiation & leadership experience.

Additional Qualifications

  • Billing, pricing, and equipment knowledge.
  • Product sourcing experience is very helpful.
  • Refined Fuel distribution experience.
