Job Summary:
The Licensed Practical Nurse will care for clients at Davis Archway Treatment Center in both Detox and Residential setting.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Administers medications, noting times and amounts on clients’ charts.
- Observes clients, charting and reporting changes in conditions such as adverse reactions to medication or treatment and takes necessary actions.
- Answers clients’ questions/concerns and determines how to assist them.
- Measures and records clients’ vital signs.
- Works as part of a health care team to assess client needs, plans and modifies care, and implements interventions.
- Evaluates nursing intervention outcomes, conferring with other health care team members.
- Follow up with, execute, and properly document doctors’ orders.
- Carry out all duties assigned by Director of Nursing in evaluating, planning, and implementing plans of care.
- Administer injections, distribute medications, take vital signs, collect samples, and assist with other basic medical care tasks.
- Complete insurance reviews and pre-certifications, admissions and discharges.
- Observe and record clients symptoms, condition, and/or reactions to medications, treatments and report results to charge nurse/supervisor.
- Provide emotional and psychological support when needed.
- Maintain professional communications and interactions with clinical and support staff members
- Follow up with, execute, and properly document doctors’ orders.
- All other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- General knowledge of nursing and health care terminology.
- Excellent client care skills.
- Have good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Communicate effectively with client, families, and outside referral agencies.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records in the client record.
- Ability to perform functions of LPN in substance abuse setting.
Education and Experience:
- Postsecondary certificate from vocational school or Associate’s degree in nursing required.
- Current state licensure required
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- May require prolonged periods of standing, moving and bending.
- Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds at times..
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $27.00 - $30.00 per hour
