Overview

As our Medical Surgical LPN at CUMC Bergan Mercy Hospital, you’ll excel in your nursing career by providing care to patients admitted to our unit. Most of your patients are funneled in from other units providing you with the opportunity to build on your education and experience in specialized service lines such as cardiac, telemetry, orthopedics, neurology, critical care, surgical services, and emergency.

About Us:
CUMC-Bergan Mercy is a Level I Trauma Center. The Medical Surgical Orthopedic Trauma unit is a 55 bed unit with telemetry at an academic medical center. We are part of CommonSpirit Health which operates 137 hospitals and more than 1,000 care sites across 21 states making our services accessible to nearly 1 in 4 U.S. residents.

What You’ll Do
  • Administer individualized care plans for assigned patients.
  • Accurately perform treatments utilizing sterile or clean techniques for patients needing wound care/dressing change.
  • Administer patients’ medications accurately, safely, and consistent with the patient's condition and plan of care according to departmental policies.
  • Complete thorough, concise and accurate patient care documentation.
  • Provide physical, educational, and emotional support to patients as well as their friends and families.

Qualifications

We are offering a $5,000 Sign On Bonus and up to $8,000 in student loan repayment assistance to new hires who meet the following eligibility requirements.

  • Current LPN license that allows you to practice in our state
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required
  • Additional certification or licensure may be required for some specialty areas
