Essential Responsibilities:

• Provides licensed nursing services to residents as ordered by a physician in accordance with any state and federal regulations and consistent with community policy.
• Respond quickly to all emergencies and provide oversight and coordination during emergency situations
• Responsible for the admissions of new residents to include all admission assessments and documentation.
• Responsible for clinical system tracking (i.e. wounds, infection control) under the direction of the DHW.
• Ensuring the setting up of charts for new residents and entering appropriate information into the EMAR
• Completing weekly care notes as well as weekly cart, Medication Administration Record, and chart audits and pulling expired and/or discontinued medications from med carts
• Ensuring all incident reports are completed accurately, responsible for faxing incident reports to QA Reader and completing investigations and follow-up
• Responsible for approving new medication orders or changes to medication and treatment orders on the EMAR and ensuring that physician orders are transcribed to Medication Administration Record (MAR)/Treatment Administration Record (TAR) accurately
• Provide general consultation regarding health-related concerns within the community.
• Record relevant information in the 24-hour Communication Log at the end of each shift.
• Record necessary information in resident chart related to change of condition or health updates
• Notify physicians and/or family of any change in resident’s health and provides proper documentation.
• Maintain confidentiality of residents’ and prospective residents’ information.
• Adhere to all policies and procedures of Morningside Elite Management.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Skills/Educational Requirements:

• Maintains current state license as a Licensed Practical Nurse per state regulations.
• Must be Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certified
• License must be in good standing.
• This position requires a certain level of flexibility with work hours.
