Job description

Job Purpose: The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) is responsible for working with the Medical Department in implementing and maintaining quality care programs, ensures efficient workflow, provides ongoing clinical support, and works within the organization by interacting well with patients over the telephone or in person to assist in assessing patient care with the physician, nurse practitioner or Registered Nurse (RN), functions as a Telephone Triage Nurse, provides clinical support, general education and nursing care to patients via telephone or in person using established protocols. Accurately documents all patient encounters and telephone triages.

Qualifications:

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Vocational Nursing.
  • Current unrestricted License to practice as a Licensed Vocational Nurse in the state of California.
  • Possess current CPR certification.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality at all times; abides by HIPAA and other regulations put forth by various regulatory agencies.
  • Maintains flexibility and a positive attitude in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Displays courteous and professional behavior in all interactions with patients, co-workers, the public, vendors and others.
  • Works cooperatively with other staff members.
  • Displays sensitivity when working with a diverse population.
  • Adheres to SCIHP’s and/or department’s dress code, including fragrance-free requirements.
  • Ability to perform all point of care testing.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical and background investigation.
  • Must show proof of completed COVID 19 vaccinations and booster. Plus annual flu vaccination.
