M & R Trainee - First Shift - Gibson City, IL

Hours - 7:00 am - 3:30 pm

You Will Spend Your Time...

This role is responsible for maintaining industrial process and packaging equipment at required operating levels at the site. As a mechanic you will be replacing parts, repairing equipment, and performing preventative maintenance. This is a day shift Monday through Friday role that requires a rotating, on-call schedule.

Main responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Execute maintenance work orders
• Perform preventative/predictive maintenance on equipment as assigned
• Install and align new/repaired equipment using laser alignment equipment as needed
• Service, troubleshoot, and repair any problem of mechanical nature including, but not limited to, pumps, grinders, conveyors, fans, limited fire protection, service piping (steam, water, process, hydraulic and pneumatic).
• Verification of successful repair/installation prior to equipment turnover to operations
• Maintain adherence to site safety, environmental requirements, and other policies

Job Requirements

The following are required:

• High School Diploma/GED
• 3+ years of maintenance experience in an industrial, manufacturing, military, or related role
• A basic knowledge of hand tools and troubleshooting skills
• Basic computer skills, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Positive attitude with an open-minded approach to learning
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to gather information related to mechanical failures
• Willing and able to adapt to a changing workday
• Willing and able to work both outdoors and indoors in hot, cold, wet and dry conditions
• Willing and able to complete work that involves repetitive motion and/or repetitive lifting
• Willing and able to climb and/or work in elevated areas
• Willing and able to work in confined spaces
• Willing and able to stand and/or sit for extended periods
• Willing and able to work a day shift role with a rotating, on call schedule for a facility that operates 24/7

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $25.76 per hour
