Summary
Assists in the direction and coordination of manufacturing activities throughout the facility. Acts as a communications hub for the team, mentors and motivates team members and ensures individual and group productivity. This position reports directly to the Value Stream Manager within the Antigo manufacturing plant.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Leader:
- Ensure the safety and productivity of all employees assigned to designated shift.
- Enforce all manufacturing, safety, and quality procedures.
- Enable effective communications between management and operators.
- Assist in the training of new employees and coach existing employees.
- Maintain a clean and safe workplace in accordance with 6S protocol.
- Suggest /implement cost-saving ideas.
- Ability to open/close the facility (locking/unlocking doors)
- Answer telephones and conduct other administrative functions.
- Investigate and troubleshoot process problems as they occur and make necessary corrective actions.
- Perform other related duties as assigned or as the situation dictates.
Machinist:
- Complete knowledge in set up and operation of lathes, mills, grinders and other equipment
- Familiar with the set up and operation of the CNC equipment.
- Possess proficiency in the use of precision measuring equipment, i.e., micrometers, profilometers, roundness, hardness, and gauges.
- Interpret drawings and specifications and have a working knowledge of shop math including geometry plus elements of trigonometry.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
- Self -motivated and have good organizational skills.
- Skill in programming of CNC equipment

Education and Experience
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Four to six- years’ experience in tool room and prototype machining
- First Responder certification or ability to obtain.
- Forklift certification or ability to obtain.
- Proven leadership, verbal communications, and interpersonal skills.
- Time management, scheduling, and prioritization skills.

Work Environment
Employee will be in a manufacturing environment where they may work near moving mechanical parts and may be exposed to electrical shock and vibration. Employee may be exposed to but not limited to: fumes, toxic chemicals, explosives, or radiation and therefore must follow on-site company protocol.
Noise Level: Moderate to Loud.
