This position will be primarily responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of manufacturing equipment and the facility for a designated shift. Position Description: Team Members performing this job are responsible to assist the Maintenance Manager in overseeing all maintenance aspects of the EggLife Plant to ensure that production is ran with the least amount of downtime possible by preventative maintenance and proper inventory of parts and supplies.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: (non-exclusive list)
- Assist manager with all mechanical aspects of the Plant.
- Ensure that all Pneumatic equipment within the Plant are properly maintained and in good working order.
- Install, monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot plumbing and electrical circuits.
- Be familiar with and understand Food Grade stainless process piping, grades, passivation, and sanitary welding.
- Be familiar with and understand HVAC, Boiler & Cooling Units
- Monitor, maintain, troubleshoot, and coordinate PLC installation, programming, and repairs.
- Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot CIP Systems
- Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot Process Equipment.
- Responsible for Potable Water which includes chlorinating, filtering, softening, documentation, and IDEM compliance. (Which requires State certification and continuing education.)
- Metal fabrication
- Ability to perform all required quality, food safety and safety testing, checks, assessments and document results and findings.
- Be able to read and understand work instructions.
- Able to write legibly for creating records and documentation.
- Maintain a clean work environment.
- Ability to understand and abide by all environmental control requirements as it relates to the wastewater and air emissions.
- Understand and achieve Key Performance Metrics required to ensure business results are achieved.
- Be able to work with people and work in teams.
- Be able to participate and give suggestions on how to improve your job, the plant, and the company.
- Be aware and follow all food safety rules and procedures in the execution of the job.
- Be able to follow directions.

- Alert management of any urgent or emergency situations requiring immediate attention or approval.
- Perform any other duties assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- High School degree is required. Associates Degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
- Proven knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, plumbing, boiler, cooling units and HVAC in manufacturing setting.
- Must be reliable, and be extremely punctual, as efficient operations require the plant to start on time daily.
- Possess excellent teamwork skills – as with many jobs this position requires a “team” attitude.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks at once – the ability to deal with stressful situations.
- Ability to work in all weather and temperature environments.
- Must be flexible and adaptable, being open to change (positive and negative) and to considerable variety in the workplace.
- Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment, when required, to keep you and the product safe; may include is but not limited to safety glasses, steel-toed boots, aprons, gloves, etc.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Must be able to work at heights. Must be able to reach areas only accessible by ladder. Must be able to climb to and perform repairs on equipment in hard-to-reach-places.
- Be available to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
- Willing to comply with all EggLife's safety, quality, food safety, environmental, employment, and GMP policies including working in a 100% smoke-free environment.
