Description

Position Summary:
Reports to the maintenance supervisor. Responsible for clerical tasks, systems and procedures related to
maintenance in compliance with Management & Training Corporation (MTC) and Texas Department of
Criminal Justice (TDCJ) directives.
Essential Functions:
1. Perform varied duties including performing data entry functions.
2. Enter work requests and preventative maintenance information into maintenance management
systems.
3. Receive, record and distribute work orders to maintenance staff as directed by supervisor.
4. Perform duties including typing correspondence, form letters, accountability forms, status reports and
other required forms in a timely manner.
5. Maintain files on department records, forms and correspondence sent, received and/or requiring further
action.
6. Schedule vendors as directed by supervisor to perform work outside the scope of facility staff.
7. Proofread records or forms; copy needed information from one record to another as required.
8. Request and track merchandise, supplies, parts and equipment needed for facility maintenance
activities.
9. Maintain perpetual inventory control on materials and supplies in appropriate tracking system.
10. Promote the development of positive social skills through modeling appropriate behaviors and
intervening when inappropriate behaviors are observed; provide regular feedback to staff regarding
social skills procedures and intervention techniques.
11. Maintain accountability of offenders and property; adhere to safety practices.
It is expected that the incumbent shall perform other duties as assigned within his/her capabilities as
determined by management.
Education and Experience Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent or GED required. One (1) year related experience, including proficiency with
various word processing, spreadsheets, data bases, and computer data entry experience preferred. Valid
driver's license in the state of Texas with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by
management.
Must be a U.S. Citizen.
