Maintenance Manager

The Maintenance Manager, reporting to the Plant Manager, will be responsible for directing the performance of the maintenance team in a manner which assists the facility in meeting or exceed production goals, quality metrics, cost constraints, budget requirements and schedule goals for the plant. WHAT YOU'LL DO:

• Leads a group of multi-craft, skilled maintenance technicians
• Facilitates all work group activities to meet established safety and quality standards while reducing costs and improving maintenance techniques
• Plans and schedules maintenance work related to corrective maintenance, preventative maintenance, work order requests, equipment installation and project related work
• Interfaces with department manager to coordinate daily and weekly activities and set priorities
• Addresses long and short-term quality concerns and then provides feedback to production and quality control
• Analyzes data relating to quality concerns
• Helps in planning the PM's and operator check sheets of new equipment, working with engineering and outside vendors
• Tracks and maintains employee records related to attendance, performance, overtime, safety, mobile equipment licensing and training. Keeps technicians updated on all policies and procedures applicable to them.
• Participate as an active member in the safety, quality, and food safety committees and attend all scheduled meetings but not limited to internal auditing, training, implementation and corrective actions.
• Ensures technicians operate in a safe and efficient manner and that all safety guidelines and rules are followed
• Must be able to rotate and work various shifts including extended hours
• Develop and implement improvements and changes in the work instructions, job description and learning needs.
• Must be able to keep administrative documentation current regarding schedules, inspections, inventories and management reports.
• Other duties as assigned

WHAT IT TAKES:

• Bachelor's degree in or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years maintenance experience in a food manufacturing environment.
• Highly proficient with MS Office.
• Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
• Ability to thrive in a fast pace environment.

WHAT WE'D LIKE TO SEE:

• 3 to 5 years leading maintenance teams in a manufacturing or distribution organization
• Experience with unions
• Bilingual (English and Spanish)
