QUICK DETAILS - MAINTENENANCE MECHANIC
Hourly Rate: $25/hour+ depending on skillset and experience at hire
Hours: 1st shift - Monday through Friday (approximately 6 am to 2 pm, with OT available)

The AMZ Pennsylvania Ave facility is a multi-faceted metal finishing operation. It is a part of the AMZ Manufacturing Corporation, which also includes an industrial coating plant on Boxwood Ln and an assembly plant on Farmbrook Ln in York PA. AMZ serves a diverse group of industries including defense, aerospace, agriculture, medical, transportation, and many others. The mission of the AMZ Pennsylvania Ave Team is to ensure the customer’s orders are delivered when they want them, where they want them, and how they want them in a safe and cost-effective manner.
In order to further the mission of AMZ, the Maintenance Mechanic will serve a vital role at the Pennsylvania Avenue facility.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain and repair all equipment related to processing customer parts
- Ensure buildings and grounds are in good working order and presentable
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on production line
- Repair and replace steam lines
- Assemble and dissemble equipment
- Procure maintenance equipment, supplies, tools, and factory supplies
- Schedule and procure contract services related to maintenance functions as necessary
- Assist in the development, execution, and completion of special projects
- Communicate with the management team on ideas and needs in the facility
EDUCATION / SKILLS
- Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED
- Working mechanical aptitude to work in a variety of areas in the facility (including older electrical equipment, plumbing work, etc.)
- Ability to follow process diagrams in a logical manner
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, and Word) is preferred
- Experience working in a chemical environment / waste treatment is preferred
- Possesses excellent communication skills to work well with people at all levels
- Possesses strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Be familiar and comfortable working with electrical processes
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Lifting 50 lbs consistently
- Performing repetitive motions
- Frequent walking, standing, stooping, bending required
- Working in an industrial environment, including seasonal changes in temperature and with hearing protection and other PPE as needed
