Job description
Position Purpose:
To maintain the building and grounds in a safe and secure condition, to provide the proper environment for patients/residents, families, staff and visitors
Duties:
- Assist in the outdoor operations of the facility as directed, performing indoor/outdoor activities including but not limited to grounds keeping activities in the summer and snow removal in the winter.
- Assist in the hospital areas as directed including but not limited to taking down and setting up beds as directed.
- Assist in the general areas of the facilities as directed including but not limited to furniture placement and removal Worker II floor care assistance, cleaning and organizing of plant operations and other areas, trash removal, dusting and washing of plant operations window sills, window and piping, sweeping and mopping of plant operations floor areas including non-public areas.
- Perform basic functions in support of the Worker II position including but not limited to painting, wall paper repair, filling of holes, cracks, patching as directed.
- Attend training and work with the Worker II to learn basic repair techniques in all maintenance areas to improve/advance.
- Learn local, state and federal regulations regarding environmental and life safety requirements of our facility’s residents and report issues to management.
- Properly use, store, and dispose of hazardous, flammable, combustible chemicals and materials as directed.
- Adheres to Lakeview policies and procedures including performing other duties as assigned by Worker II, Director of Plant Operations or Director of Environmental Care and Material Management.
Qualifications:
Skill, Knowledge and Abilities: Ability to read, write and comprehend English. Ability to express one’s self and to communicate clearly and concisely. Ability to take direction and follow-through, work from a check list. Ability to multi-task; i.e. perform more than one job at one time. Ability to work within a diverse and large population. Ability to learn fire and safety codes. Ability to learn JCAHO, state and federal regulations. Ability to learn and grow with the organization as experience accumulates desirable.
Education: Prefer high school diploma or G.E.D.
Licensure: Minimum - Valid Drivers License with clean driving record
Experience: Basic knowledge of drywall, painting, wallpaper repair desirable; not required. Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, grounds-keeping desirable; not required.
