Scope of the Position

The role of the Maintenance Planner is to improve work force productivity and quality by anticipating and eliminating potential delays through planning, scheduling, and coordination of maintenance resources, parts, materials, and equipment access. This role reports to the Maintenance Manager. Responsibilities include planning and coordination of all planned maintenance activities performed at the site.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, prioritize and schedule maintenance work orders including material needs, safety information, appropriate maintenance history and critical information to complete jobs safely and efficiently.
  • Process material requests and expedite as necessary to ensure that parts are on hand when needed.
  • Work with Operations and Maintenance Management and Supervision to prioritize and schedule maintenance work.
  • Provide support for maintenance planned machine shutdowns.
  • Provide support for maintenance emergency unplanned work orders. Evolve reliability work from reactionary to a proactive condition-based maintenance process including the creation of new preventative maintenance plans in Maximo.
  • Create and maintain functional locations, equipment and work orders in Maximo and/or CMS.
  • Administer requisitions and service entries in Maximo and or CMS.
  • Direct weekend workload of outside contractors and maintenance employees.
  • CI projects to determine whether to invest or maintain equipment.
  • Manage fabricators, industrial painters, and also maintenance employees for large projects.
  • Performs other related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Prefer Bachelor’s degree in Business Management/Technical Science or equivalent experience.
  • Prefer 5 years’ experience in an automotive manufacturing environment, or manufacturing plant experience.
  • Occupational Health and Safety Act, Labour Laws.
  • Conflict Resolution Management, Time Management.
  • Strong communication, presentation, organizational, problem solving, teamwork interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Effective use of technology, instruments, tools and information systems.
  • Ability to seek a team approach.
  • Ability to give guidance and direction as required.
  • Ability to set direction, make decisions and oversee the line with little to no direct supervision.
  • Solid computer proficiency and knowledge of Microsoft Office software suite.
  • Availability to support/operate on off shifts as required.
  • Ability to deliver business results both independently and through others.
  • Working weekends, and during shut-down, or special projects, is required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
