Job Title: Maintenance Technician - 3rd Shift
Department: Maintenance
Reports To: Maintenance Manager
FLSA: Non-exempt
Summary: Delta’s maintenance department offers “full service” support to production and other departments. Repairs and maintains production and support equipment such as injection mold machines, automated assembly, electronics assembly, metal stamping, auxiliary equipment, conveyor systems, and test equipment. Provides service for facilities and grounds to include utility distribution, (electrical and plumbing), and building envelope maintenance and upkeep. Understands electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic systems and with some experience fabricating, welding or plumbing.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Adheres to and enforces all safety rules, regulation and policies.
- Troubleshoots problems with plant equipment, completes repairs and/or replaces defective parts. Recommends or suggests tasks to be added to equipment PM plan.
- Assists engineering with projects or leads projects as assigned.
- Lends support to all shop coordinators and supervisors.
- Lubricates and cleans equipment as scheduled.
- Installs utilities to codes as required for building needs or equipment requirements.
- Starts equipment after install or repair to test performance.
- Identifies parts to order and submits request.
- Has the ability to work with prints, drawings and/or sketches.
- Performs building/grounds maintenance as required. (snow removal, cleaning, painting, etc.)
- Has the ability to work from written tasks as assigned for repair maintenance, preventative maintenance and work orders.
- Must have a good supply of tools and electrical meters.
- Works with contractors while on site for equipment installations, upgrades and/or facility work.
- Guides and directs subordinate technicians and others assigned on routine and project work.
- Regularly communicates equipment issues or needs with the Maintenance Manager and offers suggestions for repairs or improvements.
- Must be competent with operation of powered industrial trucks.
- Must have a valid state of Ohio driver’s license and be insurable.
- Position requires steel-toe or equivalent safety footwear meeting ASTM F2413-11 I/C 75
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience:

This position requires a high school diploma and three to five years of experience in electrical, fluid power and mechanical trades with an ability to read prints and schematics. Preferably formalized, certified or documented training within one of the skilled trades. Must have a good understanding of machine repairs and installation requirements, with knowledge in electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic controls with the ability to identify component parts. Competent knowledge of multimeter use, measuring tools and test equipment needed for repairs.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and smell. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and outdoor weather conditions. The employee is rarely exposed to high, precarious places, fumes, extreme cold, extreme heat or vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Pay: $23.00 - $29.00 per hour
