Job Description


The position is for a Maintenance Technician working in all aspects of a manufacturing facility operation. The Maintenance Technician builds, moves, installs and maintains various types of factory and service equipment. Works from prints, sketches, and verbal instructions. Performs pipe fitting duties, insulating, sheet metal work, structural work, and welding. Performs general carpentry, metal work, and does simple electrical disconnects and reconnections. Operates and repairs facility infrastructure such as compressors, boilers, and HVAC equipment. Diagnoses and repairs all types of manufacturing process equipment. Assumes complete responsibility for repair jobs with minimal supervision. Cleans and lubricates machinery as required. Performs other duties as assigned. Works with plant and technology team to plan and install new equipment.

This is a Union position and Current will offer to pay for additional training which can result in incremental raises within the Plant. Starting pay rate is $24.40hr + OT ($50,752 based on a 40 hour work week) and can increase to $29,29hr + OT ($60,923 based on 40 hour work week) through employee training and tenure.

Job Duties Include:

  • Follows all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout, and OSHA code regulations, as well as all general site safety rules.
  • Uses all necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required
  • Reads and interprets blueprints schematics
  • Troubleshoots manufacturing equipment, including pumps, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
  • Performs routine maintenance on a wide range of equipment
  • Maintains and operates facility infrastructure equipment such as steam boilers, HVAC systems, compressors, and vacuum pumps
  • Works well with production associates, Engineers, Management, and Technology team members
  • Demonstrates analytical and problem-solving skills, solving both independently and as a member of a team
  • Able to work with limited supervision
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications


Minimum Qualifications:

  • HS diploma or GED equivalent (related technical/trade school or associate degree preferred)
  • 0-5 years of experience performing basic mechanical work in a manufacturing setting
  • Ability to inspect, replace, repair, install, and troubleshoot mechanical equipment
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow blueprints, schematics, drawings, work instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to read, write and communicate the English language
  • Comfortable working independently
  • Basic computer literacy
  • Knowledge of predictive and preventative maintenance functions
  • Knowledge of a variety of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
  • Ability to properly use hand and power tools
  • Must be able to work closely with engineering and manufacturing personnel
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills and a willingness to learn new things

Desired Skills

  • Certification to operate steam boilers
  • Welding certifications
  • Fire protection system certifications
  • Experience in HVAC systems
  • Experience with Machining equipment, such as CNC, lathes, routers, etc.
