Position Title: Maintenance Technician

Duration: Full-time

Compensation: $20 - $24 per hour. Competitive, commensurate with experience.

Lead Maintenance Technician Primary Purpose: In a leadership capacity as needed performs construction, maintenance, repairs on commercial and residential property portfolio. Lead other team members and/or subcontractors on a variety of projects.

  • Maintains properties: cleans, paints, electrical work, changes furnace filters, light plumbing, framing and drywall, clean gutters, troubleshoot leaks, replaces hot water tanks. Performs plumbing, refacing of cabinets, roofing, siding, and installing flooring.
  • Troubleshoot and repair underground utility lines and collaborate with city/municipal officials
  • Snow duty: Drive plow truck for snow duty early mornings, nights, and weekends.
  • Occasionally performs grounds keeping work, including grounds cleaning and landscaping.
  • Operates equipment: dump truck, mini excavator, and skid steer.
  • Maintain and repair vehicle and small engines.
  • Performs preventative maintenance on tools & equipment by conducting inspections, lubricating, & daily cleaning.
  • Practices safe work habits and wears personal protective equipment as required.
  • Meet with contractors to explain work needed, collect & negotiate bids, and oversee subcontractor’s work.
  • Maintains the presentation of the shop to keep it safe and clean.
  • Effectively and politely communicates with co-workers, tenants, and customers.
  • Completes and fulfills paperwork required for work orders and service requests.
  • Keeps records of vehicle and property maintenance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Skills, and Requirements

  • Must have advanced knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC for Commercial and Residential properties.
  • Must have advanced knowledge of building codes, fire codes, building and civil engineering plans.
  • Remains “on call”, as necessary for tenant emergencies 24/7/365.
  • Must possess leadership skills to lead, manage, and drive accountability.
  • Must be comfortable with a smart phone, email, and basic computer skills.
  • Good personal, writing, and communication, and leadership skills.
  • Able to operate Equipment/Heavy Equipment: Excavator, Skid Steerer, Dump Truck, Snow Plow
  • Must have knowledge in Concrete finishing, Asphalt repairs, roofing systems, HVAC, utility line repair/replacement, and Infrastructure construction.
  • Perform a variety of tasks and moderately heavy manual labor for extended periods of time and in unfavorable weather conditions.

Valid Drivers license and must maintain a good driving record

Associated degree to equivalent

Must provide your own tools and be on call
