Job Summary

Performs difficult skilled, technical and responsible work planning, directing and participating in building and grounds maintenance and repair activities. This is a supervisory position required to schedule work load of other maintenance staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Performs routine maintenance and repairs to buildings and grounds
• Performs carpentry, plumbing, electrical and mechanical maintenance and repair
• Performs special building construction projects to include office remodeling, painting, various cosmetic changes
• Delivers and assembles office furniture and equipment
• Evaluates situations to determine best/cost effective course of action
• Discusses situations with supervisor when anticipated course of action should be revised
• Requests all purchases of materials, supplies, equipment and parts necessary to accomplish duties
• Develops specifications for purchase of materials, equipment and parts
• Makes periodic inspections of building to determine need for maintenance or repair work
• Prepares cost estimates
• Performs other tasks as required

Minimum Requirements of the Position

• Must be a US citizen; have a Permanent Resident Card, or an alien Registration Receipt Card (Form I-551)
• Must have and maintain a clean driving record (NOT TO EXCEED 6 PTS)
• Must have and maintain a criminal history absent of convictions for violent crimes or for any crime against children.
• High school diploma or equivalent required. Post secondary education desired. Extensive experience in construction, repair and maintenance work involving buildings, related structures and grounds including considerable supervisory experience
