Job Overview

The Maintenance Technician will perform the repairs, installations and upkeep of various buildings, offices and other facilities. The primary responsibility includes performing inspections on different facilities to find problems and make repairs.


Responsibilities

  • Diagnoses problems and performs routine to difficult carpentry duties, including installation of new doors and installation or repairs of door jambs.
  • Repairs and maintains machinery, including motors, pumps, belts, and fans.
  • Repairs and maintains mechanical equipment, including heating and air conditioning.
  • Disassembles units, cleans, lubricates, repairs, and replaces parts.
  • Performs routine to difficult painting duties, including drywall, plaster repair, and painting.
  • Performs routine to difficult plumbing duties, including inspecting, installing, repairing and replacing pipes, fittings and plumbing fixtures, unclogging sinks and toilets, repairing faucets, and assembling and replacing of washers.
  • Performs routine to difficult electrical duties, including inspecting and testing lighting, wiring and power circuits, replacing faulty switches, and replacing faulty lamps and ballasts.
  • Works in conjunction with the Maintenance Manager to ensure all work orders are completed in a timely fashion.
  • Maintains maintenance inventory.
  • On duty for after-hour emergency maintenance.


Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of experience in property management; experience working with housing assistance programs preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proficient in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and vendor management.
  • Valid driver's license and willing to travel on-site to properties scattered-site across the state on a daily basis.
  • Ownership of working tools.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and time management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills; fluent in Spanish is a plus.
  • Must possess a high-level of moral judgment for handling confidential information.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Reporting to the office the whole week is required.
