Role Overview:

Performs corrective and preventive maintenance on critical facilities systems such as HVAC System, Compressed Air, Steam System, Purified Water System, and Clean Steam System, and manufacturing process equipment such as Autoclaves, Mixing Vessels, Fillers, packaging equipment, Lyophillizer, and Centrifuge among others. Leads small projects to improve equipment/process reliability, efficiency, and operation as well as standardize equipment design in a GMP environment.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate equipment availability with production to ensure maintenance is completed within required timeframe.
• Plan and execute maintenance and project work with minimal supervision.
• Partner with production to identify windows for maintenance activity completion.
• Perform emergency repairs, which necessitates the ability to troubleshoot promptly.
• Equipment / process troubleshooting and documentation of equipment repairs.
• Create and implement maintenance standard operating and PM procedures based on specific machine knowledge.
• Locate and diagnoses failures through in-depth data analysis.
• Assess equipment condition and replace worn or defective components.
• Perform troubleshooting using advanced electronic equipment, isometric and P&ID drawings, diagrams, programmable logic controllers, functional specifications, operating and component manuals, and verbal/written instructions.
• Maintain detailed maintenance documentation and repair logs following GDP expected of pharmaceutical industry.
• Complete maintenance documentation at the time of maintenance completion.
• Identify and help implement equipment/process improvement projects.
• Assist completion of manufacturing non-conformance investigations and technical document writing.
• Coordinate/support other departments to ensure smooth execution of work.
• Provide technical advice to other manufacturing departments.
• Transfer lower level maintenance and equipment knowledge to production operators.
• Collaborating with other mechanical maintenance technicians to solve complex mechanical issues.

Education and Experience:

High School Diploma or GED equivalent required

Associate’s Degree or higher prefered *

Previous Military experience or work history in a highly regulated industry is a plus

Candidate must have good oral and written communication skills and the ability to collaborate with customers and company personnel at all levels of the organization and with diverse groups.
