JOB TITLE: Maintenance Technician Lead

Location: South Plainfield

JOB PURPOSE:

The Maintenance Technician Lead is responsible for the install, movement, troubleshooting, repairs, and modifications / adjustments made to Drives, PLC’s and all other mechanical/electrical equipment. Also responsible for devices used in production, laboratory, office, general building and utility areas. Responsible for ensuring safe and reliable machines/utilities performance on achievable production environment by effective management and assignment of personnel

Organizational Development (20%)

• Utilize Weekly 10 performance plan to document and execute personal improvement priorities and goals, achieving or exceeding critical departmental objectives.
• Highlight talented team players that demonstrate the proven capabilities to maintain equipment and components in optimum working status, and retain the knowledge needed to safely and proficiently perform the required job responsibilities.
• Interface effectively with other maintenance functions to maximize success and increase expertise across the entire organization (Electrician, Mechanics, Purchasing, supplier, and contractors).

Operational Excellence (70%)

• Maintain a positive working culture that is centered on safety. Safety Incident Goal = 0
• Work with South Plainfield Maintenance Manager to maintain WO completion rates. Complete safety DM and PM <5 days. Maintain WO completion <20 days on average.
• Follow established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and/or sanitization control standards.
• Maintain a clean and organized Shop workspace by ensuring all tools, equipment, pieces and materials are clean and put away in designated areas. Maintain established 5S area plan.
• Work directly with the Maintenance Manager to arrange labor, equipment and parts for PM work, and other planned maintenance downtime.
• Utilize MMS to enter, assign, perform, and close maintenance work orders.
• Utilize strong electrical and controls skills to assist in installs of equipment and machinery. Also assist with troubleshooting and repair of equipment.
• Perform or assist with light metal or wood fabrication as well as metal joining. Other miscellaneous tasks as assigned.

Cost Savings Initiatives and Support (10%)

• Support capital project justification efforts in collaboration with operations.
• Assist on approved capital and maintenance projects. As needed insure that project tasks are completed on time, on budget.
• Active participation on projects in order improve execution to reduce scrap/Downtime, increase productivity, quality, etc.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

5-10 years of manufacturing maintenance experience
