While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather); work in high, precarious places; outdoor weather conditions; risk of electrical shock and vibration.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision, Peripheral vision, Depth perception and Ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands/fingers to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to walk; sit and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

SUMMARY
Maintenance Utility position for
Second Shift Weekdays OR Second Shift Weekends who performs tool work and plans mechanical updates on plant equipment, troubleshoots, plant equipment, and keeps up with assigned work orders. Performs generalist maintenance task throughout the facility including equipment, grounds, and office areas requiring basic skills in plumbing, electricity, carpentry, millwright, etc.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Diagnoses malfunctions in machinery and equipment and troubleshoots with/without the use of control prints
- Plans mechanical layouts for updates on machinery and follows projects through to completion.
- Designs and installs simple air and fluid system modifications and updates prints (where applicable).
- Recognizes and reports safety hazards on equipment and initiates correct actions.
- Follows lockout procedures and all safety rules in the facility.
- Handles and labels hazardous and non-hazardous chemical containers properly.
- Maintains good housekeeping in the work area.
- Calibrates systems and machine controllers (where applicable).
- Performs preventative maintenance on all equipment.
- Performs, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment.
- Has basic knowledge of AC and DC motors, controls, and power systems.
- Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school education or equivalent; advanced technical training or two to four years of Industrial Maintenance experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Database software.
