Job Description:

- Identifying and billing secondary insurance billing
- Calling insurance companies regarding any discrepancy in payments if necessary
- Reviewing accounts for insurance of patient follow-up
- Researching and appealing denied claims
- Following up on unpaid claims within standard billing cycle timeframe – 30, 60, and 90 day follow up
- Sending patient statements and noting them in final draft notes
- Informing billing manager if someone is ready for collections
- Patient Payment follow up
- Setting up payment plan for patient when needed
- Informing clinic of patient payment for processing – informing billing manager of payment for posting in Medisoft
- Knowledge of NCCI edits to ensure payment is correct and adjustments are posted
- Knowledge of insurance guidelines including HMO/PPO, Medicare, Medicaid, and other payer requirements and systems.
- Familiarity with CPT and ICD-10 Coding.
- Knowledge of medical terminology likely to be encountered in medical claims.
- Problem-solving skills to research and resolve discrepancies, denials, appeals, collections.

- Retrieving ERA payments every Tuesday & Thursday

- Perform other tasks as assigned.

Skills:

- Basic knowledge of CPT codes within 120 days

- Ability to multitask

- Ability/understanding of Microsoft Suite

- Basic knowledge of Medisoft within one week of start date

- Basic knowledge of eBridge within one week of start date.

- Ability to read and understand an EOB within one week of the start date.

- Basic knowledge of various software programs used by IMS within one week.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
