Major Products Salespersons are one of the points of contact for customers seeking sales or parts assistance in the Major Products Department (i.e., wood stoves, gas refrigerators, etc.) in Lehman’s Kidron Store. Along with other Major Products team members, Major Products Salespersons help to create a memorable visitor experience by engaging with customers in a friendly manner and by providing excellent customer service.

  • Possess and maintain an excellent motor vehicle driving record, possess a valid Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles approved driving license, and valid insurance in the event that assistance is needed with deliveries or installations.
  • Greet customers and ensure an excellent first impression by engaging the customer in a positive manner and assisting the customer in determining needs and/or wants.
  • Study and maintain up-to-date product knowledge and installation instructions.
  • Describe merchandise to customer and explain use, operation, and appropriate care and maintenance of merchandise.
  • Recommend, select, and help locate or obtain merchandise based on customer needs and/or desires.
  • Obtain and maintain up-to-date knowledge of current and past merchandise in order to assist past, present and future customers.
  • Maintain knowledge of current sales and promotions, policies regarding payment and exchanges and security practices.
  • Demonstrate use or operation of major products and accessories.
  • Answer questions about Lehman’s and its merchandise.
  • Coordinate the handling of customer orders with the doc at Dalton Warehouse to ensure prompt and excellent customer service.
  • Compute sales prices, total purchases, and receive/process cash/credit payments into the POS system.
  • Respond to customer phone calls and emails related to sales, parts, and installation or service scheduling.
  • Research replacement parts using different mediums such as online or catalog sources in order to determine replacement part stock numbers and/or prices.
  • Advise customers on substitution or modification of parts when identical replacements are not available.
  • Prepare in-stock orders for shipping parts to the customer(s) or pick-up at the store.
  • Prepare sales order(s).
  • Receive, mark and stock parts in the warehouse according to prearrange systems.
  • Assemble merchandise as needed.
  • Take physical and logical inventory of stock parts and notify Purchasing Assistant for replenishment.
  • Examine returned parts for defects, and exchange defective parts or give a refund.
  • Maintain up-to-date vendor contact information and share information with buyers.
  • Stock merchandise.
  • Maintain orderly and organized sales counter and work area as well as showroom floor.
  • Clean shelves, counters, tables, and merchandise in the Major Products area.
  • Rearrange Major Products floor models, as well as other smaller products, in the showroom area.


Experience:
Minimum experience required is 2 years of retail sales or commensurate experience preferred; prior experience with technical sales and/or HVAC is desirable, but not necessary to apply. Lehman’s will provide on-the-job training for qualified applicants.

Certifications:

  • Obtain and maintain National Fire Institute (NFI) Certification
  • Obtain and maintain Chimney Sweep Certification
  • Obtain and maintain a Lehman’s Forklift Certification
