JOB PURPOSE:
The Mammography Technologist performs specialized examinations of the breast to help in the diagnosis and treatment of breast disease in patients. The Mammography Technologist performs a variety of tasks involving the operation of mammographic radiographic equipment and other equipment/devices as appropriate. Mammo Technician
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Performs quality screening, diagnostic and other mammography procedures.
2. Reviews all exam requisitions for pertinent information and makes notes on all additional pertinent information.
3. Demonstrates competence and proficiency in performing all required exams on patients, positioning the patient and equipment, selecting the protocol, technique and utilizing all required equipment.
4. Evaluate images for diagnostic quality, obtaining additional images as needed.
5. Ensures accuracy of each exam by following established procedures and labeling images correctly.
6. Provide Customer Service/Support to patient population.
7. Maintains all required records, reports, and files as required by Federal, State and other regulatory agencies.
8. May be required to demonstrate competence and proficiency in performing all radiological procedures on patients of all age groups. Positions patient, selects the correct protocol, and utilizes all required equipment.

Requirements
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Graduate of an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
One (1) year minimum experience as a Mammography Technologist preferred.
MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:
Registered Radiologic Technologist in Radiography (R) and Mammography (M) - ARRT.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
BLS certified.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
1. Must be able to perform quality Mammography examinations in accordance with all standards.
2. Must be able to provide other technologists instruction on the same equipment.
3. Must deliver SAFE care in accordance with the Alwaysafe program.
4. Must use AIDET with every encounter and be proficient with service recovery.
