What Will You Be Doing?

Responsible for all aircraft field maintenance outstations, their coordination and duties. Completes ongoing review of aircraft contractors for proper qualifications, capabilities and assist in agreement negotiations. Ensures that the contract vendor has the required resources i.e. Tooling/equipment, parts (Materials Allocation List) on hand to complete the assigned tasks. Ensure that all maintenance personnel under his/her direction are properly trained and qualified to perform the assigned tasks. Provide oversight for all out station inconsistencies, evaluating all nightly deferrals for systemic issue and establishing corrective actions.

Essential Functions

  • This position provides operation control, oversight and procedural guidelines for all outsourced maintenance. It reviews maintenance contractors’ qualifications in accordance with CFRs and Frontier Airlines standards as outlined in Frontier Airlines' GMM (training records, maintenance courses, certifications, exams, insurance, drug program, etc.
  • Manages aircraft field maintenance contractors and directs/assigns Frontier personnel (direct reports within the department) of daily tasks.
  • Perform maintenance station reviews in accordance with Frontier Airlines policies and procedures.
  • Observe maintenance contractors performing Airbus A-check, heavy and service checks.
  • Recognize improper maintenance procedures and corrects with OJT “if on site”, or inform Maintenance Training of additional training requirements.
  • Recognize improper safety actions and correct “if on site” through vendor mitigation.
  • Write reports from field trip to address findings and concerns to be filed in maintenance contractors' folders for bi-annual review. (These reports are also utilized by other Frontier Airlines departments
  • for information regarding the maintenance contractor).
  • Screen, direct, and respond to incoming calls and inquires: interpret departmental correspondence and/or take action on correspondence.
  • Make recommendations to Supply Chain management of what type of supplies are required to support Class II, III, IV and on-call maintenance stations via email using the aircraft field maintenance allocation spreadsheet.
  • Update and maintain Field Maintenance Providers list as outlined in Frontier's GMM.
  • Maintain filing system for various documents (copies of certificates, DOT verifications, insurance paperwork, proper aircraft fleet qualifications). Maintain currency of department-assigned company manuals and aircraft supplemental manuals.
  • Coordinate the start-up of new Frontier Airlines cities.
  • Assist with answering audit findings of FAA, and validate the implementation of corrective actions.
  • Any other duties that are relative to the Aircraft Field Maintenance department that have been assigned by the Manager, Aircraft Field Maintenance (Administration) or the Director, Maintenance
  • Ensure that their personal training is current and their qualifications are up to date to perform assigned tasks.
  • Assists the Manager, Aircraft Field Maintenance (Administration) as required to ensure administration duties are kept up to date.

Qualifications

  • FAA-certificated mechanic with Airframe and Powerplant ratings
  • FCC Radio license - preferred
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum 5 years of aircraft related maintenance work
  • Airbus heavy maintenance and line maintenance experience
  • Prior exposure to Human Resources process - preferred
  • Prior experience with development and updating department budgets - preferred
