OBJECTIVE:
To lead growth in Farm Bureau’s commercial market across the four regions with a focus on team sales goals, Michigan commercial market intelligence, pricing, and rate conditions using a commercial field team to partner with the agency force. To promote the effective training, sales, and servicing of commercial property/casualty (P/C) insurance markets. To create and maintain a comprehensive program of training, sales, and service in the commercial P/C markets for all the regional agencies. To supervise the state Commercial Sales Specialist (CSS) Program, the Commercial Marketing Partner (CMP) Program, the Northern Regional Commercial Sales Advisor, and the Commercial Sales Account Coordinator (CSAC) team. To be responsible for the training and development of a curriculum to promote profitable commercial production growth in a coordinated effort with Marketing and Underwriting management.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage and lead a team of commercial field team members to grow Farm Bureau commercial market share while maintaining profitability. Stay up to date with internal and external changes to market conditions. Work closely with Farm Bureau Product Development Team to continue to enhance our commercial offerings while maintaining a strong relationship with the Farm Bureau commercial actuarial and underwriting teams for pricing and rating functions.

Develop and train a commercial team of specialists and partners, perform a wide variety of functional activities intended to increase the production and service efficiency of those Farm Bureau Insurance agents working in the commercial P/C markets, and motivate and encourage more agents to enter those markets. Promote commercial P/C sales statewide by conducting and participating in partnership meetings and trainings.

Lead content development for training and education of the agency force of a sales region in the technical information and sales techniques applicable to the commercial P/C markets.

Conduct seminars and workshops at the partnership level. Lead the team that makes presentations at new and veteran agent development trainings. Write sales articles for partnerships and company publications. Assist in the design of sales training programs and materials. Assist P/C Commercial Underwriting staff as needed in market intelligence and underwriting trends.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required: Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, insurance, or finance required, or equivalent experience may be considered. Minimum five years commercial sales, product development or underwriting experience required. Must possess a valid driver license with an acceptable driving record. Designations in CPCU or CIC required, or actively being pursued.
