It is the mission of the Sinclair Community College Human Resources Department to pro-actively provide comprehensive human resources services including: employment, compensation and benefits, employee relations, learning and development, and additional services to our prospective, current, and former staff in a timely, caring, and respectful manner.
The Manager of Compensation and Data is responsible for the management and oversight of employee compensation programs. This position will administer compensations programs related to job design, classification, market pricing, pay studies, policy, Wage and Hour law interpretations and compensation education and training. Additionally, this position is responsible for data compilation and management to include but not limited to databases such as an HRIS.
This managerial role will provide guidance and leadership to all team members of the Compensation and Data area.
The salary range for this position is $65,147 to $86,862. Salary is determined commensurate with experience.
After appropriate training, this position is eligible to work remotely 40% of their regularly scheduled hours at the discretion of the supervisor.

Principal Accountabilities
Compensation:
- Participate in and conduct salary surveys and other benchmark studies; provide appropriate data analysis, create and present reports and develops recommendations as appropriate.
- Monitor and research trends and best practices to make recommendations to new programs/systems that are effective and consistent with college objectives.
- Support and assist in the annual performance evaluation process.
- Assist in the development, implementation and administration of compensation policies and programs.
- Manage/coordinate position reclassification and job evaluation processes.
- Serves as the HR liaison to the Budget, Payroll, IT and Research, Analytics and Reporting departments and compensation vendors for salary/pay issues.
- Serve on the college-wide Salary/Benefits committee
- Special Projects/other duties as assigned
HRIS :
- Maintain compensation database to ensure integrity and accuracy; use HR data queries to extract information.
- Process and manage employee transactions regarding new hires, promotions, terminations, etc.
- Provide support on HR related reporting to leadership and other areas of the institution.
- Special Projects/other duties as assigned.
Worker’s Compensation:
- Manage relationship with external Worker’s Compensation vendor.
- Manage Worker’s Compensation as the liaison to BWC and MCO/TPP.
- Special Projects/other duties as assigned.
Unemployment:
- Manage Unemployment Claim process as the liaison to the ODJFS.
- Appear on behalf of the College as necessary to unemployment hearings.
- Special Projects/other duties as assigned.
Compensation and Data Leadership:
- Provide guidance and support regarding policy application and procedures to the members of the Compensation and Data area.
- Research and effectively utilize the College’s database.
- Provide training to the members of the Compensation and Data area.
Requirements
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a related field required; Master’s degree preferred
- Professional certifications (CCP, PHR/SPHR) preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of professional work experience in data analysis, design and or administration of employee compensation programs, data management and mining of an HRIS database required
- Ability to analyze complex data and create appropriate charts/graphs preferred
- Working knowledge of compensation software or related HRIS systems; knowledge of Ellucian (Colleague) or SAS Data Warehouse is preferred
- Ability to work in a fast paced, high volume environment while maintaining professional composure required
- Ability to use Microsoft Office proficiently required
- Thorough knowledge of principles, theories and concepts of administering compensation programs including working knowledge of compensation policies, philosophy, best practices, etc. required
- Advanced knowledge of compensation function and applicable practices and programs preferred
- Knowledge of job classification systems required
- Knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations pertaining to Human Resources, i.e., FLSA, Wage and Hour, etc. required
- Work experience in higher education is preferred
- Demonstrates highly effective written and verbal communication skills in order to present complex information in a clear and concise manner
- Ability to work with confidential information required
- Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously while providing great attention to detail and meeting all prescribed deadlines required
