Position Summary:
The LA Galaxy Park is a newly imagined complex on the campus of Dignity Health Sports Park, scheduled to open at the end of Q1 2023. The LA Galaxy Park includes five 5 v 5 soccer fields, three futsal courts, twelve pickleball courts and a number of other recreational activities such as lawn bowling and Teqball. The Manager, LA Galaxy Park will be charged with developing, promoting and selling programming for the complex to maximize revenue while also building affinity to the LA Galaxy brand. The manager will be responsible for the general oversight and management of the complex, including it's full-time and part-time staff. This individual will work with various departments at LA Galaxy and Dignity Health Sports Park to ensure the growth of the facility's overall business while being a good representative of the LA Galaxy brand. The Manager, LA Galaxy Park will work closely with management, to oversee operations and create a revenue growth strategy at the facility. This position will undertake additional responsibilities as requested by management to ensure that the LA Galaxy Park is operating as a sustainable business, is representing the LA Galaxy brand in a first class manner, and is providing a first class experience to LA Galaxy fans & customers.
Essential Functions:
- Collaborate with LA Galaxy's Programming department to ensure there is consistent programming and revenue generation at the facility that meets monthly and annual goals. This includes ensuring facilities are consistently rented by the LA Galaxy /third parties to ensure the consistent building of various soccer-related programs that meet business goals and objectives.
- Responsible for the day to day oversight of LA Galaxy Park's operating budgets, revenues and expenses. Collaborates with the department head and the finance department to develop yearly budgets/goals and monthly forecasting with an emphasis on revenue generation as a top priority
- As the head of the facility, the manager serves as the main point of contact for all internal and external relations. Ensures all guests are met with a well-trained staff and a safe venue. Liaison to third party tenants, vendors, partners and sponsors to ensure streamlined communication, follow-up and execution
- Oversees the overall operations of the facility. This includes the following: 1) ensuring the facility is safe and clean, 2) assisting in planning & improving the facility, 3) monitoring operation of all facility maintenance & safety equipment in order to be legally compliant with OSHA standards, 4) initiating & carrying out projects to improve efficiency and/or reduces operating costs, 5) ensuring city, state and federal regulations relating to operating the facility are met at all times.
- Oversee the day to day office administrative work including staff schedules and timekeeping, while collaborating with LA Galaxy's Human Resources department to hire, train, supervise and monitor staff performance ensuring all AEG policies and practices are adhered to. Works with HR to promote a culture of belonging and respect amongst all employees.
- As determined by management, oversees facility departments, including active participation in meetings, procedures and policies.
- Design and execute an annual LA Galaxy Park's business plan. The business plan should include qualitative and quantitative goals for the upcoming year along with recommendations for a path of growth beyond the upcoming year.
Required Qualifications:
- BA/BS Degree (4-year)
- 4-6 years Related work experience in business operations with an emphasis in experiential marketing and sales
- Experience creating, managing and overseeing budgets
- Experience in the sports and entertainment industry or hospitality preferred
- Extensive knowledge of the game of soccer
- Knowledge of local, youth soccer
- Proven leadership and supervisory experience
- Demonstrated business acumen
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint), Internet use, and ability to learn required business systems
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task effectively and with a sense of urgency, sometimes under high level of stress
- Team player who enjoys a fast paced innovative environment
- Self-motivated with a positive attitude
- Ability to lift, push, pull up to 25 lbs
- Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet business needs, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
