We are hiring experienced Community Managers at multiple locations in the greater Phoenix Area.

The Work You'll Do:

With a CEO mindset you manage the day-to-day community operations including managing the team members, resident experience, facility and maintenance services, daily activities, and resources of the community. Succeeding at these tasks allows you to achieve financial and operational goals, and ensure that the operation of the community complies with company and industry policies and procedures. You can accomplish the following expectations:

  • Lead by example and be a role model for the standards and behaviors consistent with the guiding principles and culture of Mark-Taylor.
  • Oversee the hiring process and ongoing employee performance management through courageous conversations and applicable HR processes. Create the most streamlined and effective processes and procedures commensurate for growth of each team member. Take ownership and complete all tasks relating to promotion, succession, compensation, and transition planning as it pertains to the team.
  • Coach, mentor, and inspire a team of administrative and service personnel; coordinating their activities and individual goals through tactical planning. Exhibit a pattern of developing skilled team members through proper training in conjunction with incorporating the specific cultural traits of Mark-Taylor.
  • Develop the budget(s) for the property by proposing strategic revenue enhancements, analyzing and evaluating financial statements, managing contract relationships to optimal pricing, reviewing current and projected marketing information. Being up to date with investment objectives verbiage.
  • Display active participation in proposed property enhancements. Obtain and evaluate bids and scope of work for capital projects in conjunction with your Manager of Facilities and Service (MFS). Demonstrate project management expertise and the ability to work in unison with your community MFS.
  • Meet or exceed targeted revenue expectations by setting rent rates, managing operating expenses, and diligently monitoring aged delinquency. Prepare and review monthly financial reports with intuitive forecasting and a proactive plan for the financial performance of the asset.
  • Approve invoices from vendors, contractors, and service providers for payment by reconciling work performed or products purchased.
  • Oversee the lease enforcement process by reviewing and approving prospective resident applications, lease renewals, as well as managing lease terminations.
  • Develop market knowledge. Be a sub-market specialist by gathering, analyzing, and interpreting current market and economic trends that may impact the property and implement leasing strategies to achieve the property's occupancy and revenue goals.
  • Optimize the future resident experience by proposing innovative ideas to enhance the sense of being "home" for the members of the community. Communicate marketing needs of the asset through interaction with the Mark-Taylor PR department.
  • Ensure resident satisfaction that yields outstanding customer ratings and community reviews. Promote resident retention by responding to feedback, questions, and service requests in a timely manner. Handle conflict with diplomacy and a willingness to do what is right at all times.
  • Conduct regular property inspections and own the resolution plan and execution to ensure that the physical aspects of the property, grounds, buildings, and amenities meet established standards for safety, cleanliness, and general appearance and appeal.
  • Play a lead role in managing the client/owner relationship by meeting with the owners, conducting property tours, providing updates and information about the property's performance, and responding to owner requests as needed.
  • Ensure comprehensive compliance as it relates to regulations in terms of Fair Housing, Americans with Disabilities Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, landlord tenant laws and other laws and regulations governing multi-family housing operations.

The Skills You'll Bring:

  • 3+ years people management experience
  • 3+ years in a customer facing environment
  • Demonstrated coaching and development ability.
  • BA degree preferred or equivalent professional experience
