POSITION: Manager of Education Operations

SALARY RANGE: $55,ooo – 60,000
SCHEDULE: Weekdays, some weeknights and occasional weekends
STATUS: Exempt
REPORTS TO: Director of Education
The Manager of Education Operations is a vital member of the Education Department, helping ensure each program’s success by keeping the department ahead of all deadlines. By organizing and managing the multi-faceted operations of the Education Department, the Manager of Education Operations helps maintain and expand the department’s infrastructure as the Education Department grows and evolves. The ideal candidate is passionate about arts education and recognizes that strong and well-organized administration and materials result in high quality experiences in all programs the department offers.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Student Matinee Series
- Build and maintain network of teachers and schools who have attended or will attend HTC performances
- Recruit for all student matinee performances
- Manage all reservations, reservation changes, and collection of payments and general correspondence/communication with schools
- Process orders and payments in Tessitura and maintain database
- Assign pre-show workshop placements for Education staff
- Proofread and edit curriculum guide as assigned
- Ensure curriculum guides are designed and published online in time
- Distribute curriculum guides to schools, arrange pre-show workshops for schools.
- Communicate with all schools prior to and after student matinees
- Manage day of event flow for all student matinees including all materials prep (seating chart, school packets, etc.)
National Competition/Performance Programs
- As they apply to Poetry Out Loud Massachusetts (POL), Next Narrative Monologue Competition (NNMC), and the August Wilson New Voices Competition (AWNVC):
- Confirm required locations, space, and other venues for each regional event
- Ensure all registration forms are created and posted and manage all registration/participation databases
- Order all event gifts for participants and adjudicators
- Manage preparation of all competition materials
- Work events as assigned, including evening and weekend events
EPIC: Empowered Performers in Conversation and Codman Academy Partnership
- Produce final performances as assigned
- Stage Manage as assigned
- Point person with production for any technical needs for final performance
Practical Learning (Apprentice program, high school internships, etc.)
- Support all practical learning programming and events by managing calendars
- Meet with student interns and apprentices as assigned
- Support coordinating visits to other cultural organizations as assigned
Marketing and Visibility
- Create yearly marketing and visibility plans for all programs. This includes program playbills, recruitment collateral/material lists and setting deadlines.
- Serves as Education Department representative with marketing staff for the following: education pages on website, all programs, flyers, education brochure, education social media accounts, lobby screens in lobbies of both theatre sites, press releases, feature articles, etc.
- Manages all timelines to ensure programming and materials are ready on time and within budget. This includes curriculum guides, program playbills, digital materials, social media posts, email campaigns, etc.
General Departmental Responsibilities
- Collect and organize all program data (participation statistics, locations, etc.)
- Ensure supplies and materials are stocked for staff and Education Space
- Manage Education Space calendar
- Maintain Education Space by requesting maintenance, repairs, supplies as needed
- Manage Huntington Education, AWNVC, NNMC, and POL Email Inboxes. Maintain or delegate communication as needed in those email accounts.
- Set season and create Education Season Calendar and Education Programs Schedule documents.
- Attend all Education Committee Meetings. Communicate with committee to gather RSVPs for each meeting.
- Attend and work annual Gala unless other Education roles are assigned.
- Serve on interdepartmental committees as assigned
- Secure photographers and/or videographers for all programs as needed and/or assigned
- Teach for programs as assigned
- Other duties as assigned by the Director and/or Associate Director of Education

REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree required in theatre, management, or related field, with a master’s in arts administration a plus but not required.
- Three to five years’ experience in theatre and/or education administration
- Sophisticated experience using Microsoft Office Suite and Google Apps
- Demonstrated ability to adopt and advance The Huntington’s committed to our ASAP, Values, Vision, and EDIA principles.
- Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills
- Demonstrated and meticulous attention to detail
- Able to manage multiple deadline-oriented assignments and projects at any given time
- Works effectively both independently and as a strong team member
- Exercises good judgement and discretion with confidential information
- Familiarity with education standards and pedagogy
- Able to lift 20-30 lbs
- Experience teaching K-12 students with urban high school environment preferred but not required
- Experience and knowledge of Tessitura a plus but not required
- Experience with theatrical producing and/or stage managing preferred but not required
- Driver’s license and access to a vehicle preferred
