Job Description
  • Requires a strategic thinker, strong communicator and problem solver who will provide clinical oversight of all social workers.
  • Responsible for managing all units at both campuses of Melrose Wakefield Healthcare.
  • Will work closely with the Director of Case Management and take responsibility for systems functions, SW staff performance, and patient care outcomes.
  • Determine SW staffing assignment for both Melrose-Wakefield, and Lawrence Memorial Hospitals.
  • Supervise inpatient SW team (8-10 SWs).
  • Provide support and guidance with complex cases.
  • Address performance concerns of inpatient SW team.
  • Hospital point person for government agencies
  • Maintain SW productivity data and statistics.
  • Provide individual, clinical supervision for all LCSWs.
  • Attend organizational and departmental leadership meetings.
  • Participate in community task forces and meetings.
  • Serve as liaison for our collaborative relationship with community agencies and partners.

Qualifications


EDUCATION:

  • Requires a master’s degree from an accredited School of Social Work.
  • Requires a Massachusetts license as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker.

EXPERIENCE:

  • At least 5 years’ of clinical social work experience.
  • Previous experience supervising staff in a hospital or healthcare setting preferred.

SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Requires knowledge of the social work process and community resources/agencies relative to health, protective services, crisis intervention, disability, etc.
  • Advanced interpersonal skills necessary to interact effectively with various healthcare professionals; and to develop and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Must be comfortable in a fast paced and dynamic work environment.
  • Excellent English language skills.
  • Must be able summarize and communicate moderately complex information both orally and in writing to internal and external parties.
  • Cultural sensitivity and comfort with a wide range of racial and ethnic populations.
  • Computer literacy with ability to use standard word processing, spreadsheet programs and e-mail (i.e.MS Word, Excel, Outlook) and web browsers.
