The Manager Operations is responsible for directing and overseeing department activities to ensure efficient use of labor hours and productivity to meet volume expectations.
This position is also responsible for driving operational improvements to achieve business goals, streamline processes, and maximize operational performance to enable long term growth. • Monitor department activities to ensure an effective use of available resources are used to meet production schedules for customer orders and inventory requirements. • Review department production reports and resolve minor issues to ensure quality standards. Escalate major issues to the Plant Manager as needed.
- Recommend and establish department organization, including hours worked and productivity to meet volume expectations. • Assist the Plant Manager in improving manufacturing operation procedures to increase productivity. • Implement company wide policies, goals, objectives, and procedures in conjunction with company management. • Develop the annual department fiscal budget.
- Ensure that proper safety methods are used in the department as specified by Loss Prevention. Ensure team maintains an orderly and clean department. • Perform all other duties as assigned. Qualifications • Bachelor's Degree in Operations, Business, Engineering, or related field and five (5) years of relevant work experience required.
Ability to listen and communicate effectively. Ability to lead people. Ability to actively engage by means of discovery, process, and/or application of new information. Demonstrate key competencies, including conflict management, business negotiation, organization and decision making.
Physical Demand Requirements Occasionally required to stand, walk or sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
