Job Description

The Operational Excellence Lean Leader will support Department Heads and the Operational Excellence Site Leader in implementing and sustaining OPEX at the site. The OPEX Lead will support the department OPEX activities including data collection and analysis, prioritizing projects and creating the implementation plans.
They will assist in documentation of processes, lead and/or participate with team activities, facilitate meetings, and communicate findings. It is expected that the OPEX Leader will learn the key aspects and methodologies of the Teva Production System and other process improvement techniques needed to understand and assist in driving to achieve a step change in the performance of the site in terms of quality, service and cost competitiveness while engaging and empowering the site employees.

Essential Duties / Functions

  • Use standard approach to shape and execute strategy for deploying the full OpEx to improve business performance and increase people’s lean competency
  • Train and Coach team members and other key stakeholders to increase their lean technical and lean leadership competency
  • Leverage prioritized projects to deliver improved business performance & increasing skills of site resources
  • Application of OpEx to improve safety, compliance, process stability, drive continuous improvement, build quality and efficiency into processes and improve process lead times and speed to market
  • Enhance the management system of sites from Tier 1 to Tier 3
  • Manage and leverage external coaches to accelerate people development of site resources
  • Develop and implement leader standard work for all key site leaders
  • Lead and or contribute to other prioritized OpEx work as required
  • Apply change management methods to ensure effective execution of OpEx and to promote a culture and mindset of operational excellence and continuous improvement across operations with increasing external focus and embedding it into our daily work

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science Degree preferred in Pharmacy, Chemistry, Biology or Engineering. Advance Degree preferred.
  • Minimum three (3) years experience in a Lean production environment, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Experience in one of several operational functions (e.g. Manufacturing, Quality, Validation, Supply Chain is an advantage)
  • Project management experience and excellent time management skills
  • OPEX expertise; Green Belt preferred
  • Excellent knowledge in MS Office
