DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:


AutoNation, the nation’s largest and most admired Dealership group, is in an exciting phase of innovation and growth. We are looking for a highly detail-oriented automotive data specialist / catalog manager to join our exciting and expanding Parts team! The Parts Team, part of the After-Sales Operations unit, maintains a focus on maximizing automotive parts sales and parts profits. The ideal candidate will have advanced skills in Microsoft applications (Excel, Access) and specific automotive knowledge related to ACES and PIES catalog management.


The Parts eCommerce Catalog Manager will interact with our parts product managers, parts pricing analysts, eComm marketplace sales managers, and the parts eComm team to effectively oversee the ACES and PIES catalogs of the assigned lines of AutoNation’s OE and PrecisionParts branded parts and accessories. This associate will ensure that the parts data is clean, accurate, and formatted correctly for incorporation into the applicable systems. This person will have knowledge of vehicle fitment nuances and general automotive parts cataloging. The Parts eComm Catalog Manager will identify opportunities to improve the catalog data and will have the ability to guide the company’s future strategy on systems and the flow of data. This person will have the ability to work independently but will also work closely with internal associates and with vendors to streamline the consumption of data.

This position will manage multiple product lines and categories, in several sales channels, in an efficient and cost-effective manner. Ongoing he/she will maintain the accuracy of the Parts Catalog by analyzing content for accuracy and completeness using quality assurance tools.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Oversee all aspects of catalog data management for assigned categories and vendors
  • Build and maintain a database of all product attributes including, but not limited to, product descriptions, images, classification, and individual product attributes and fitment
  • Demonstrate understanding of products and their application with product descriptions, item dimensions, packaging details & images.
  • Determine customer requirements as they relate to the company focus and apply to catalog
  • Describe product features and their benefits to the customer.
  • Input product tags for SEO Title, SEO Description & Alt Titles.
  • Format friendly SEO URLs for category and product detail pages.
  • Collaborate with marketplace managers to create new item listings for all marketplaces including Amazon, eBay, Walmart & Google Shopping.
  • Collaborate with the Parts team to analyze product assortment for new markets, brands, and upcoming opportunities.
  • Gain a strong understanding of each brand to drive brand and category awareness.
  • Implement SEO best practices into product catalogs to improve listing quality for national eCommerce and marketplaces.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and other stakeholders for the collection of product content information to produce high quality product data within required specifications.
  • Manage and maintain product classifications, hierarchies, and taxonomies across assigned product lines utilizing internal processes and accepted industry practices
  • Utilize knowledge and accepted industry data standards to enrich and optimize product content information and specifications.
  • Manage product images and other digital assets utilizing industry best practices.
  • Facilitate the syndication of data to ecommerce stores, marketplaces, internal systems, and external systems while ensuring data integrity and security.
  • Work constructively with others within the organization to develop and execute departmental and organization plans/strategies.

QUALIFICATIONS (MANDATORY):
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Marketing/Sales and minimum 3 years’ experience in Automotive content management
  • Strong Automotive Parts product knowledge
  • Understanding of the Auto Care Association standards for content delivery (ACES/PIES)
  • Expert in MS Excel (pivot tables, v-lookup, graphs, etc.)
  • Advanced proficiency in relational DB’s (Access or SQL)
  • Basic familiarity with Marketing and online sales channels
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Exceptional data analysis.
  • Ability to think critically and take appropriate actions as needed.
  • Highly motivated and ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and evolving business environment
