The Job

World Vision is looking for a Manager of Digital Experience to help us transform the digital experience for our donors. Our Digital Experience team designs experiences that change lives both for our donors and for the children we serve. Design plays a critical role in shaping what those experiences are, and we’re looking for someone who can lead us into the future by guiding a team to execute our Digital Experience strategy.

The Work

We have a vision for the ideal donor experience and Design is the thing that will bring it to life. We make end to end experiences intended to motivate, facilitate and inspire our donors to respond to God’s call to serve the poor. The next 18 months are pivotal for us, here is a sampling of what we would ask you to help tackle.

  • Reimagine our core digital experiences (https://www.worldvision.org/, https://donate.worldvision.org/, org and new web and mobile apps) with our ideal donor experience research guiding the vision
  • Redesign our flagship product experiences (Child Sponsorship) and launch a new one (for Monthly Giving)
  • Launch an experience for kids that builds activates their empathy, broadens their world view, and connects them with kids all over the world
  • Test and learn into using a customer data platform (CDP) to leverage our first party data to give our donors a personalized experience
  • Ramp up design velocity for our innovation pipeline and deliver organizational learning and business growth in the process
  • Support go-to-market for our largest capital campaign ever, where we will raise billions (with a b) to end extreme poverty by 2030
  • Invest in continuous improvement of our staff toward a best-in-class approach to developing design for digital platforms

Responsibilities

You will spend about half of your time managing, coaching, and speaking into the work of your team. They are talented UI/UX Designers (2-3) and a dotted line Developer/Designer. You’ll be responsible for developing and executing our digital roadmap, creating and optimizing experiences for our digital platforms. You will be responsible for the successful design and execution of World Vision US’ Digital Experience strategy. The other half of your time will be as a working manager, providing creative thinking and top-notch design skills to produce standout experiences.

  • Primary Responsibilities
    • Coach and develop UI/UX Designers
    • Ensure alignment of your team’s work to World Vision’s digital roadmap and go-to-market strategy
    • Contribute to filling the digital roadmap with strategically validated initiatives
    • Refine and strengthen our design thinking capabilities and test and learn methodologies for experience delivery
    • Establish design practice as a service within the organization, providing consulting and facilitation of the co-creation of experiences with our business units
    • Develop productive, collaborative relationships across the organization
    • Own the success of our web platforms (core web site, eCommerce, and donor portal through a data-driven perspective)
    • Justify and secure funding for innovation projects
    • Oversee the delivery of a design system that will improve our quality and time to market
    • Managing execution in an agile environment in sync with the entire digital team
  • Secondary Responsibilities (Ideally you have experience with most of these)
    • Hiring and performance management
    • Budgeting and business case building for equipping team
    • Human Centered Design approach to developing content and digital experiences
    • Collaborate with other Digital Experience Team managers (Operations and Content Marketing) on team process and continuous improvement
    • Facilitate focused design sprints solving specific design challenges
    • Communicate results and the underlying drivers to senior management

The Team

As a Manager, Digital Experience, you report to the Director of Digital Experience and serve as a manager within the Digital Experience team. In addition to your team, the Digital Experience team includes Content Strategy/Development, Content Marketing and Social Media, UX Research, Analytics, Program Management and Web Production.

Delivering experiences will include collaboration with our broader team of collaborators, which includes Digital Marketing, Development & Delivery, and Marketing Automation. You will be a true cross-divisional player, a unifying force for building seamless collaboration that results in cohesive experiences for our donors.


Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (8 years).
  • In addition to education or education equivalent, requires 5-7 years of experience related to digital marketing, digital operations and or digital product development.
  • Must be currently authorized to work in the United States

Skills

  • Your portfolio should exhibit refined design skills with known brands, showing capabilities from original concepting through execution. Please submit this with your application.
  • Experience designing for consumers through inbound and outbound marketing. B2B experience nice to have
  • First-hand experience as a UI/UX Program Manager or UI/UX designer with strategic business perspective
  • Track record of coaching, mentoring and enabling direct reports to develop sub-strategies, as well as own and drive execution
  • Proven ability to use influence to unify teams around a common challenge
  • Experience/Product design consulting
  • Productive collaborative history with both marketers and technical professionals
  • Effective prioritization and delegation
  • Capable of juggling and driving several projects at once
    • Thrive under pressure
    • Able to work with minimal oversight

Salary Range & Benefits

Your salary is important to you, so it’s important to us. The full range for this position is $95,560.46 - $156,577.95. This applies to locations with a market similar to our U.S. HQ in the Greater Seattle area. A different range may apply based on your work location. Typical hiring range is $95,565 - $125,000. Job offers within the range are based on relevant jo qualifications and pay equity.
