Job Description:
- Lead Baltimore Vessel Operations Team
- Coordinate all vessel calls with relevant third-party providers and government agencies
- Coordinate vessel and terminal operations with MAT Operations Manager
- Set guidelines and policy, communicate, manage vessel working schedules
- Lead audits, assure cargo handling is in accordance with customer guidelines and policies
- Identify and troubleshoot issues/discrepancies; collaborate with vessel operations team, stevedores and others to resolve
- Model the way to achieve efficient processes and continuous operational improvement
- Travel domestically as required
- Thorough knowledge of ILA CBA’s, OSHA, and Safety programs
- Expertise in SPS, SAGA, iTOMs and other relevant in-house IT system tools
- Vessel planning, labor relations, and safety regulations
- Coaching teams and individuals to excel, develop, and expand skills
- 5+ years of relevant shipping, transportation, or logistics leadership
- Sailing, licensed mate is a plus as is shoreside vessel and terminal work
