Job summary
Working with the Plant Controller – Arkansas Operations, the Manufacturing Accountant is responsible for the accounting, financial reporting, and internal control functions at three separate manufacturing facilities in Brinkley (Brinkley Instant & Brinkley Mill), and Carlisle (Carlisle Mill), Arkansas. These duties include, but are not limited to production reporting, month-end close, inventory control & accounts payable. The position also works closely with Plant Operations personnel, advising them of current plant financial and budgetary information and working to create a fiscal strategy that aligns with the goals of the organization.

Major job duties/responsibilities

• Enter daily plant production for all manufacturing processes at the Carlisle Mill and Brinkley Mill
• Complete daily and monthly inventory reporting and reconciliation for all three facilities
• Receive, match, and code plant invoices, prepare new vendor requests and resolve accounts payable issues as

required

• Participate in physical inventories and cycle count program for Carlisle Mill and Brinkley Mill
• Prepare month end journal entries as required for all three facilities
• Prepare month end financial reports and participate in the month end financial results review with plant and

corporate management

• Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and periodic forecasting for all three facilities
• Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations for all three facilities
• Assist with plant quality audits and mock recalls for Carlisle Mill and Brinkley Mill
• Complete ad-hoc financial analyses or requests for information as required.
• Serve as primary backup to shipping (Carlisle), purchase order receiving (all three) and payroll (all three)

functions completed by other financial administrative staff across all three facilities.

• Assist plant personnel with accounting related questions, research, etc.
• Any other duties assigned by Plant Controller – Arkansas Operations

Minimum knowledge/skills/abilities required to successfully perform major job duties and/or responsibilities

• Must be proficient in all areas of Microsoft office, particularly Microsoft Excel
• SAP experience preferred
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of general accounting principles
• Must be detail oriented and able to multi-task
• Must be able to work independently and make decisions in line with Plant and Finance department objectives
• Excellent time management skills and job prioritization skills required

Physical demands and work environment

• General office environment and conditions with regular recurring requirement to walk manufacturing plant floor

to observe inventories, equipment performance, or plant processes.

• Visual acuity to read and evaluate data
• Able to use a variety of communication methods on a frequent basis
• Ability to operate a keyboard.

Minimum education and professional experience

• Bachelor's degree in Account or Finance
• Minimum of 5yrs of related accounting experience. Prior exp. in cost accounting and/or plant accounting environment.
