Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

Enforces Company Safety Policies within the Department

  • Drive designs of manufacturing processes for products to be manufactured.
  • Redesigns processes to improve throughput and manufacturing costs.
  • Manage development of routings and manufacturing documentation, designs tooling and equipment.
  • Create and update area metrics to show trends and to identify areas for improvement.
  • Establish approval/review process for routings, programs and tool lists prior to release for manufacturing approval.
  • Creation of manufacturing documentation for use in production areas.
  • Coordinates with Manufacturing Manager for on boarding of new personnel.
  • Acts as a technical resource providing guidance and expertise for team members in their daily technical work.
  • Identifies and requests tooling, gauges and fixtures to support the manufacturing of products
  • Scopes, Quotes, and manages the installation of Capital Equipment
  • Establish methods to identify deviations from agreed upon requirements as they occur.
  • Manage and develop training plan for others as related to an area of specialty.
  • Identifies and leads improvement projects related to quality and productivity
  • Submit reports on performance and progress.
  • Coordinates and monitors manufacturing projects from initiation through delivery.
  • Identifies and allocates project resources.
  • Serves as liaison between manufacturing and non-manufacturing departments in order to ensure that all targets and requirements are met.
  • Interfaces with manufacturing personnel, the purchasing department and supervisors on material status and production planning issues.
  • Ensures projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
  • Resolves issues and contributes to the business unit/area development.
  • Monitors and maintains department productivity and budgets.
  • Manages the work efforts of supervisors/individual contributors.
  • Displays broad knowledge of the field with strong leadership skills.
  • Standardizes processes for manufacturing core products and redesigns processes to improve throughput and manufacturing costs.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Preferred

Language Skills:


Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. .
  • Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

Mathematical Skills:
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability:
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Computer Skills:
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
