JOB DETAIL

The Manufacturing (Technology) Engineer is a senior role within the company's Milwaukee chocolate plant and is a strong leader accountable for utilizing and transforming technology into business advantage within the plant. This role will provide technical leadership and subject matter expertise in the defined manufacturing technology area across the location to support and optimize the performance of existing assets by partnering with the manufacturing excellence team and other functions. In this role, you will work to drive efficient and safe performance of each unit operation including process capabilities, hazard analysis, performance monitoring, technical training and process improvements and support the training and development for the specific manufacturing technology. The position also plays a key role in establishing and sustaining a data-driven standards-oriented culture for the location. The position reports to North America Manufacturing Technology Leader for the company's cocoa and chocolate business.

Key Accountabilities

  • Assess technical performance of assets to identify gaps and practical improvement solutions.
  • Provide leadership and oversight for the implementation of improvement projects, plans, technics, tools and quality standards across sites.
  • Apply work processes as designed within the specific manufacturing technology domain.
  • Provide technical and functional leadership and coaching for operators, production management and process engineers, by working with manufacturing technology strategy and governance teams, other subject matter experts, external experts to identify and resolve root causes to emerging issues and other improvements needed.
  • Support development of technical education content, and administering training of the technical competencies and minimum standards that must be achieved.
  • Responsible for deployment of risk management practices and safeguards within a specific manufacturing technology, understanding safety, process safety, food safety, regulatory and environmental standards, policies and codes.
  • Act as a resource for plants on current process safety standards and enhance the future process safety of our facilities.
  • Provide leadership in administering and support the creation of related policies for plants in alignment with manufacturing technology governance.
  • Independently handle complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate staff.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemical, mechanical or industrial engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Project or initiative management experience
  • Experience in multiple domains such as production supervision, project engineering, process engineering, continuous improvement and/or maintenance and reliability.
  • Minimum of four years of work experience in food production or manufacturing process plant

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Chocolate plant experience
  • Demonstrated project management skills

Position Information

Relocation assistance is provided for this role.

IDEAL CANDIDATE

The person in this role will need to focus on technical improvements for the refining department. Will handle small projects.

Needs to have engineering background, needs to be a quick learner, influencing others, operator’s supervisors, department managers.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
