Manufacturing Specialist (Cotton & Canola)


YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES


The primary responsibilities of this role, Manufacturing Specialist (Cotton & Canola), are:


  • End-to-end operational process specialist for specific crops driving operational discipline, and consistent, documented processes to achieve business targets and cost saving deliverables;
  • Strategic and tactical management of plant asset and talent utilization across the Production network to optimize internal and external capacities;
  • Oversight of safety, sustainability and quality programs to ensure best-in-class program management of Sustainability, Safety, Health & Environment (SSHE), Human Rights, Quality, ISO, Regulatory and Business Conduct requirements;
  • Promotes and creates an Operational Excellence culture to improve customer experience, reliability and/or cost by building & implementing improvements, enabling Best Practice Sharing across sites/teams and developing standard practices;
  • Accountable for facilitating and championing capital planning and management in partnership with Manufacturing Leadership Team;
  • Manages special projects on cross functional teams to support Commercial & Foundation Seed Production;
  • Leads strategic plans to enable Commercial & Foundation Seed Production to deliver new traits, products, processes & treatments for the business;
  • Supports delivering business objectives including establishing enablement metrics that align with the goals of the business;
  • Ensures documentation, trainings, and communication are completed and ready prior to the upcoming seasons.

Required Qualifications:


  • Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree;
  • Prior experience in Seed Production Operations and/or Manufacturing Operations;
  • Ability to influence across diverse stakeholder groups to enable outcomes;
  • Demonstrated strong written and oral communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, multi-cultural work environment;
  • Ability to make tough and effective decisions to move the team forward in a timely manner based on critical knowledge;
  • Ability to independently travel domestically.


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Ten or more years of experience in Seed Production Operations and/or Manufacturing Operations;
  • Prior experience in the agriculture industry;
  • Prior experience leading a team;
  • Prior experience managing cross functional projects.


Domestic relocation may be available for this role.

Visa Sponsorship may be available for this role.

Position will be based in Creve Couer, MO (St. Louis area) or an approved Bayer Crop Science production facility in the US.

Position may include opportunity to work up to 40% remote.
